In the shadows of the night
Birk fights the beast within
His blood boils like a curse
Emmy's safety through his sin

Slowly dying for her life
Beast claws at his soul

But love is his only goal
Blackened eyes see the fight
His body
Breaking apart
In this world of endless night
He guards her with bleeding heart
Fighting death
Inch by inch
For Emmy
The light he'll sustain
Though the beast makes him flinch
