Twilights Beginning

In the beginning, there was nothing. No stars. No magic. No anything. Just... nothing.

Then, poof! Out of the big, black void came two gods—Caelira Luxis, the Light Goddess, and Mordain Valtros, the Dark God. They're like, big deals, obviously. They made EVERYTHING!

They created all the light and dark in the universe, spun stars into the sky, and made the balance of magic that floats around like fairy dust. So romantic, right? And they didn't stop there, oh no. Caelira made the prettiest things—flowers, rainbows, birds that sing.  And, like, seven adorable Primordial Angels who float around with their halos, keeping everything in check. All sparkly and perfect. Very Instagrammable!

Meanwhile, Mordain, the dark and brooding one (so much angst), made the monsters, the night, wars, and, well... the chaos part. Very emo, if you ask me. And for that, he made seven Demon Emperors—each one ready to stir up some kind of trouble, but only so it's balanced. It's like they had to keep things interesting.Oh, but wait, the gods were worried.

Yeah, they were like, "What if things go too crazy, what if it gets out of control?" So, what did they do? They decided to make something big, something powerful, something... *meant to be the one who could change it all*. And—surprise—they made a baby!

No, really. They created a being, half light, half darkness. A little bundle of divine power. I know, I know... You're probably thinking, "Wait, Rysella... how do you know about this stuff?" Well, I don't. But it's in the prophecy or whatever. The whole universe depends on this being.

Except for one teeny tiny problem...

I have no idea what any of that means. I was just minding my own business on Earth when I got yanked into this world. And guess what? I wasn't even cool enough to be a hero! Nope. I was just average Miyuki Shirogane, a perfectly normal girl. I mean, I'm really good at making spreadsheets, if that counts?

But they didn't think that was enough. The priests of Eryndor looked at me, saw... nothing—not a scrap of power, not an ounce of magic. I guess that's when they decided I wasn't cut out for saving the world. They gave me the boot! Buh-bye!

So, there I was, standing in front of these priests in their fancy robes, and they were like, "Miyuki, we've made a mistake. You're... well... just not what we expected." And I was like, "Well, duh. Did you think you summoned a superhero or something?"

And then they banished me. Just like that. Not a single 'sorry for the inconvenience' or anything. They didn't even give me a lunchable.

I mean... Hollowshade?! Cursed land, full of monsters, barely anyone survives? What was that supposed to mean? Am I just supposed to go there and wilt like a flower in the dark? Pfft, no way.

And that's how I got here—Hollowshade. What a dump. But I wasn't scared. Oh, no. I was ready. And yeah, sure, it was terrifying at first, with all the yikes monsters roaming around and all, but me? I'm a survivor. I'll thrive in the chaos.

I took a deep breath and looked at the empty, desolate land around me. "Well, this is going to be fun," I said to myself, grinning like a crazy person. "I'll show them. I'll be awesome, whether they like it or not."

And that's when I figured out my thing. You know, my superpower, the thing that no one else has.

Fates Flutter.

Yeah, it's a little... fancy. But it's cool, trust me. I can summon these gorgeous blood-red butterflies. They're so delicate, but these babies can mess with people's minds. They give you a glimpse of your future. But here's the kicker: I can make it twist. A little nudge here, a little whoops, I changed that there... and suddenly, you're not in control anymore. Your destiny? I control that now.

It's kind of like playing God, but with way more sass. And a little chaos, because let's be honest, things get boring if you don't mix it up. People don't see me coming, and when I mess with their fates, they just can't escape it. It's like a butterfly effect, but without all the boring science stuff. I'm the butterfly. I make the storm.

And, oh boy, did things start getting interesting after that.

One day, I found myself stumbling upon this epic battle between the King of Slimes and some nasty creature. Now, the King of Slimes was not winning, which was totally not cool because I'm all about rewriting fate. So, I did what any normal girl would do when she sees an underdog losing: I jumped in.

"Okay, okay, King of Slimes," I muttered to myself, "Time to change your fate. You're not losing today."

A snap of my fingers, and BAM—victory! The King of Slimes won, and honestly, it was the easiest thing I'd ever done. The creature crumbled, and the slime king gave me the biggest thank you speech you could imagine—well, kind of. He was mostly a slime blob, so it was more of a gurgle. But still!

And then, he did something that surprised me. He passed on his power to me. Just like that. I mean, I didn't even ask for it, but hey, I wasn't going to say no. Slime power? Yes, please! Now, I could become slime myself—mimic things, transform, regenerate... invincible in a way I never thought possible. Sure, my core had to stay safe, but it was a step up, right?

I grinned. "Well, well, well. Look at me now. Maybe I'll even be a hero after all."But deep down, I knew something bigger was waiting. This place, this Hollowshade, wasn't just some forgotten corner of the world. No, no. There was something bigger at play here. Something more fateful.

But what?

Maybe I wasn't just a failure after all. Maybe... I was meant for something more. What? Who knows? All I knew was that the future? It wasn't written yet. And I was going to make it mine.
