Day 5 - Green eyed monster

Lingling woke up feeling determined. She's gonna beat her heart into submission no matter what. Amidst the endless thoughts last night she decided that her history with Orm is more important than her stupid feelings. It's not like she's apprehensive about what her parents would think if she tell them that she's attracted to women (or woman 'cause it's really just Orm), they've always been open minded and supportive parents. It's more about her fear of losing Orm, in her mind keeping the other girl as her friend is better than try to be something more.
She cleared her thoughts of pining and focused on the deep friendship she has with the other girl. Lingling felt a little lighter with her decision, a little more sure.

When she walked up to Orm on their usual breakfast table but she was shocked when a boy was chatting up Orm. He's talking animatedly and Orm was just there smiling. Not just a polite smile but her full gummy smile reserved for when she really finds something interesting. She didn't know if she feels anger or jealousy, probably a mixture of both. She approached them cautiously trying to school her face into indifference.

Orm looked at her as she sat down. Her smile still intact, her dimple on full show. Lingling felt a thousand feelings rushing through her, awe at how pretty Orm is, and what the fuck why is she smiling like that at some random boy kinda feeling.

"Lingling Kwong~~", Orm said in her usual affectionate tone.

"P'Jake is just here talking about the upcoming foundation week. He's inviting us to watch the concert. He said they're trying to get a local pop star to attend.", the other girl said, clearly excited about the event.

"I see. We'll be there anyway since it's required to attend.", Ling answered.

"No. No. The concert is not part of the required attendance that's why I'm inviting Orm.", Jake clarified.

"Okay. It's a few weeks away anyway so we'll just sign up when the announcements are up."

Jake nodded and smiled at Orm. "I guess I'll see you there huh?"

"Yes. We'll be there, right Lingling?"

Ling only nodded with a tight smile, trying to act normal in front of Orm.

Jake walked off after saying goodbye to the two but not before making sure to say that he'll text Orm the details when they're finalized.

Text? Orm gave her number?

Ling was fuming but she's trying to remain calm, she already decided to remain friends so jealousy isn't supposed to be something she's feeling.

She passed Orm her breakfast and took the thermos Orm was giving to her.

"Lingling? What's wrong?"

"Huh? What's wrong?"

"No. I'm asking you. You're the one acting weird with P'Jake earlier."

"What? No. I was not. It's just that everyone already knows the concert thing."

Very suspicious Lingling Kwong, Orm thought.

"Well it was just speculation and hearing it is actually happening is exciting to me. You know how much I like music.", Orm pouted.

Orm and her adorable pout. I can't even stay mad if she's looking like that.

"Okay. Okay. I'm sorry. We'll sign up, okay? I'll go with you."

"Really?? Yes!!"

Orm is smiling again. Her eyes crinkled in the corners, dimples showing deeper, her gummy smile in full blast. There really is nothing prettier than happy Orm.
