{Chapter 3}

Earth

September 13th, 2149

"They're gonna kill more people, aren't they?" Monty asked, only this time he asked the whole group.

Clarke didn't respond, giving the group all the answers they needed.

"Good. After what they did to me, I say float them all." Octavia exclaimed boldly.

"You don't mean that." Jasper said chasing after Octavia.

"Actually, she does." Marlow said to the boy, also chasing after her friend.

Octavia stopped and started undressing as they reached a river. Causing both Jasper and Marlow to immediately stop chasing her and stand in shock.

"Oh, damn, I love Earth." Jasper muttered, causing Marlow to harshly slap him upside the head.

Beside Marlow and Jasper, the rest of the group caught up, and were also standing in shock at the scene. Marlow couldn't help but laugh, amused at her best friend for being so bold. Something that she wasn't in the year they were looked up together.

"Octavia, what the hell are you doing?" Clarke shouted out to the girl, who was standing over the edge of the water.

At once, after a simple look back the girl jumped.

The group surged forward, desperate to make sure she was ok. They came across the tip of her head in the water, her eyes just piercing through.

"Octavia!" Monty shouted. "We can't swim."

"No," The girl agreed, before she stood up, half of her torso showing. "But we can stand." She said giggling.

"Wait, there's not supposed to be a river here." Clarke observed, breaking Marlow out of the momentary bliss she was in, as she furrowed her brows.

"Well, there is. So, take off your damn clothes." Finn responded, a smirk painted upon his face.

At once the rest of the group, with the exception of Marlow and Clarke, started to undress.

"Marlow, you're not getting in?" Jasper asked, as he hurriedly tried to take off his shoes.

"Absolutely not, a river is an ecosystem for all sorts of bacteria and diseases, so I'll pass." She said, running a hand through her hair. "Besides who knows what's in there now that there's radiation infecting practically everything."

"Suit yourself." Finn said with a shrug.

"Do you have a bad feeling about this?" Clarke asked, turning to look at the girl.

As Marlow opened her mouth to answer the blonde, a voice shouted out.

"Octavia get out of the water!" Jasper shouted, looking at something in the distance. "Get out of the water now!"

Before the girl even had time to react, something from underneath her, grabbed on to her, dragging her down.

Silence.
