Asa Sinclare Brown
I laced up his gloves as i began to train once again at the gym.
"Keep that guard up neph you're dropping your left hand too much," my uncle semi yelled .
I nodded as I focused on the heavy bag in front of me.
Each punch that I threw was with power and came from built up anger.
My "dad" was leaned against the ropes watching me; The tension between us was thick simply because I don't fuck with the nigga.
"Alright neph time to get in the ring You're gonna spar with Twon today." Ed called out to me as I threw my last punch on the bag.
I climbed into the ring ready to fight .
Twon was one of the best fighters in the gym since I've been gone of course.
We touched gloves and the practice fight began.
The first few rounds were intense. My movements were full of speed and strength as I dodged and weaved through Twon's punches he landed a few solid blows that reminded me I couldn't let my guard down.
"Good work both of you." Ed said as the final round ended.
" We calling it a night Sin."
I nodded stepping out of the ring and unwrapping his gloves. As I was gathering my things my dad approached me.
"Hey son we need to talk," Ant said.
My jaw tightened.
"We ain't gotta talk about shit nigga." I said as I continued to get my stuff together.
"I just want to make things right between us."
"Make things right nigga suck my dick and fuck out my face with allat " I said as my voice rose.
He took a step closer to me his face was red as fuck.
"You don't understand boy. I was going through a lot back then."
I clenched my fist trying not to punch this nigga dead in his mit.
"U wasn't going through shit u was being selfish u left a nigga for a couple years of fame then u left my mom to do this shit on her own nigga, I had to raise 4 fuckin kids and become the man of the house."
"Like I said we ain't gotta talk about shit fuck out my face nigga"
"You ungrateful ass nigga I left so I could provide for yall asses."he said yelling.
"Nigga you left cause u had a opportunity of bitches, money, and the life u wanted to live for yourself."
I took a step towards him ready to throw a punch.
But Ed intervened stepping between us.
"Enough with this bs"
"This isn't the place for this. Sin get ya shit and head home Ant come talk to me."
I glared at my dad one last time before turning away and walking out the gym .
Getting into the car I pulled off immediately as I took a pre rolled blunt out of my glove compartment sparking it.
Memories of my childhood flooded back
memories of his father leaving their home in the projects of north Philly to go be in Miami. He left and never even looked back, He left and made me have to become the man of the house at the ripe age of 12.
That's what made me have to jump in the streets. Having a mother who turned to alcohol due to a broken heart and having sisters that had needs. He knew that he had to step up.
But when his father went damn near bankrupt and decided to come home to his family he left and never looked back on filled him up with rage.
6 years of no contact from his dad but yet when he's a grown man 22 he wants to rebuild things.
I wasn't for it and neither was my family.
I had tried to move past it all to become a better man. But everytime I see that nigga it brought everything back to the surface. I felt like that hurt little boy all over again that had to jump off the porch at just 12.
