A purple skinned merman prince was swimming through his family's palace when he bumped into someone.
"Everything alright, you're highness?" the merperson asked, curiously as he turned to him.
The prince nodded. "My mom called for me."
"Ok." the merman said. "Just checking."
"Thank you." the prince stated. "Off you go, now."
"Yes, sire." the merman replied as he swam off.
The prince continued to the throne room and entered.
"Ah. There you are, Frost." a light orange mermaid with purple hair and an orange tail exclaimed as she swam off her throne and toward him. She then hugged him.
Frost pulled away. "You wanted to see me, mother?"
The mermaid cleared her throat. "Yes. You know how your sister goes to school on the surface?"
Frost nodded. "She'd rather live amongst humans."
"Now, Frost." the mermaid said. "She goes to a school for royals. I've submitted a form so you may go there, as well."
"Mom, I don't need to go to 'human' school." Frost snapped.
"It's not just humans that go there." the mermaid assured. "Merpeople do to."
"Ugh, why do I need to?" Frost asked in annoyance.
"You want to be king, right?" the mermaid asked, knowingly as Frost nodded. "All future kings are required to attend."
"Did dad go there?" Frost asked, curiously.
"Yes." the mermaid replied as sighed heavily.
"In that case, I'll do it." Frost assured.
"Wonderful." the mermaid exclaimed. "You know how to change forms, right?"
"Yes, mom." Frost replied. "Is that all?"
The mermaid shook her head. "You must keep what we are a secret."
Frost nodded. "Understood." He paused. "I shall go at once."
"Good." the mermaid said as she hugged him. "Tell Coral, mom says hi and that I miss her."
"I will." Frost assured as he swam up to Lyric, in order to get to the surface.
~Time Skip~
Frost poked his head out of the water to check for humans. Thankfully, he didn't see any. He crawled out of the water, sat up and changed forms. He looked at himself and noticed that only did his body change but he was now wearing human clothes. Ugh, gotta learn how to use legs. He tried to stand but was so wobbly that he fell flat on his face. He groaned as he sat up, again. How to humans use these things?
Just then, he someone approach him.
Frost turned to see a brown skinned guy with purple eyes and yellow hair that has blue and green highlights in it.
"Hey, you ok?" the guy asked in concern. "I was walking and I just happen to look over here and saw you struggling to walk."
"Yeah, I'm fine." Frost assured in reply. "Go away, now."
"No." the guy stated. "You need help."
"I don't need a human's help." Frost snapped.
The guy raised an eyebrow at him.
Frost chuckled nervously. "Please ignore what I just said."
"Um, alright." the guy said. "Let me help you."
"How do I know I can trust you?" Frost asked, curiously.
"Well, instead of letting you continue to struggle I came over to help." the guy replied with a shrug.
"Fine but just this once." Frost stated.
The guy smiled as he helped Frost to stand. "I'm Joystick Legacy, by the way."
"Frost Ice." Frost replied.
"Cool name." Joystick commented, much to Frost's confusion. "Sorry, I didn't mean that to be a joke."
Frost shook his head. "It's not that. It's just I've never heard that joke, before."
"Oh." Joystick said in disbelief. He cleared his throat. "Anyway, did you forget how to walk or even stand?"
"Um, sure. Yeah let's go with that." Frost replied, nervously.
Joystick rolled his eyes. "You strange, man."
"Uh, thanks." Frost replied.
"No problem. Now let's get you walking." Joystick said as he taught Frost how to use his legs.
