"Alright, Trav, let's get into it," Jason says, settling into his chair as we start recording New Heights. "Big weekend? Do anything interesting?"
I shrug, keeping it casual. "Nothing too wild. Just the usual."
Jason raises an eyebrow, and I already know I'm in trouble. "Oh yeah? So you're just gonna sit there and not mention the dinner with Taylor Swift that made magazine covers?"
I blink, trying to play dumb. "What dinner?"
Jason snorts, pulling out his phone and flashing a headline at me. Sure enough, there's a photo of me and Taylor at the restaurant, the caption reading: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce: A New Love Story?
"Did you not think I'd see this?" Jason asks, grinning. "Are you canoodling with Taylor Swift?"
I laugh, shaking my head. "Canoodling? Who even uses that word?"
"I do. And so does America, apparently," he says, leaning in. "So...what's the story? Are you two back on speaking terms, or are we talking something more?"
I glance down at my hands, trying to keep my cool. "It's not like that."
Jason grins. "Are you into her?"
"We're just old friends catching up, that's all."
Jason leans back in his chair, smirking. "Mmhmm. And you didn't deny that you're into her."
I roll my eyes, but I can't help the small grin creeping onto my face.
Jason gasps, dramatic as ever. "Oh, you heard it here first, folks. Travis Kelce might just be into Taylor Swift. Is this the start of a love story?"
"Jason," I groan, rubbing my temples.
"What?" he says, laughing. "I'm just saying! You're smiling like a lovesick puppy, man."
Before I can respond, my phone buzzes on the table. Without thinking, I pick it up and glance at the screen.
Jason groans. "Oh no, don't tell me that's her."
I don't answer, quickly typing a response to Taylor's message: Let's catch up again soon?
Jason leans forward, shaking his head. "Unbelievable. You're texting her right now, aren't you? During the podcast?"
"Relax," I mutter, setting my phone down.
"No, no, no. Let's talk about this," Jason says, pointing a finger at me. "You're breaking podcast etiquette for Taylor Swift. That's dedication."
"It's not like that," I insist, but I can feel my cheeks heating up.
Jason smirks. "Dude, you didn't deny it again. I'm calling it: Travis Kelce, future Mr. Swift."
"Stop," I say, laughing despite myself.
"Can't stop, won't stop," Jason replies. "This is podcast gold."
My phone buzzes again, and Jason glares at me. "Don't even think about it."
"Think about what?" I say, reaching for my phone.
"Trav, I swear to God, if you pick up that phone, I'm replacing you with a mannequin for the rest of this episode," Jason says, dead serious.
I grin, ignoring him as I check Taylor's response: Would love to! Just name the time.
Jason groans, throwing his hands in the air. "You're hopeless. Absolutely hopeless."
