Months had passed since the chaos surrounding Kayla's attempts to destroy their family. Life had slowly begun to settle into a routine, one that Nia cherished more than anything. Zion was thriving, Amara was growing, and the bond between Nia, Marcus, and Liam had only grown stronger. But there was one thing that had been left unsaid, a question that lingered in the air like a secret, waiting for the right moment. That moment was today.
---
It was a quiet evening when the boys made their move. Nia was in the kitchen, preparing dinner when Marcus appeared in the doorway, a grin on his face.
"Mi love, wi got something fi yuh," he said, a twinkle in his eyes.
Nia raised an eyebrow, wiping her hands on a towel. "Wha' you two up to now?"
"Nothing bad, mi promise," Liam added, walking into the room and gently guiding Nia toward the hallway. "We want fi take yuh out. Just di three of us."
"Out? Tonight?" Nia asked, surprised. "I still got Amara's things fi pack up."
"Don't worry about Amara. We got her covered. Just come with us," Marcus said, offering her his hand.
Nia looked between the two men, her heart warming. She had never expected this kind of surprise, but she trusted them. Slowly, she took Marcus's hand. "Okay. But yuh better have a good reason fi this, or mi will be upset."
"We do," Liam said, taking her other hand as they led her outside.
---
The night air was cool, and the stars were twinkling in the sky as they climbed into the back of a sleek black car. It wasn't the usual ride-this was different, more formal. Nia raised an eyebrow, but Marcus simply winked at her.
"Where are we going?" she asked, glancing between the two men.
"Surprise," Marcus replied cryptically.
The drive was peaceful, the soft hum of the engine and the occasional rustle of the trees their only company. As they neared the destination, Nia's curiosity began to get the better of her. The car pulled up to a luxury hotel, the kind she had only seen in magazines, with tall, grand columns and sparkling lights that seemed to dance in the night.
"Yuh serious?" Nia asked, her voice incredulous. "Yuh bringing mi here?"
Liam grinned as he opened the door for her. "Trust mi, it's special. Just wait."
---
Inside, the hotel lobby was elegant, with gold fixtures and a marble floor that gleamed under the soft lighting. They were escorted to a private dining area, an intimate table set for three with candles flickering softly in the middle. The view outside the window overlooked the entire city, with lights twinkling in the distance.
"Dis is... wow," Nia breathed, her eyes wide. "I never expected this."
"You deserve it, Nia," Marcus said, pulling out a chair for her. "All a wi life, wi been fighting and surviving. Tonight, wi just want fi show yuh how much yuh mean to us."
Nia smiled, touched by the sentiment. "Mi don't need all this," she said softly, sitting down. "All mi need is yuh two."
Liam sat beside her, taking her hand in his. "And that's why we wanted to do dis, Nia. Fi let yuh know dat we see yuh, we appreciate yuh, an' we want fi spend di rest a wi life together."
Nia's eyes searched Liam's, her heart racing. "What do yuh mean by dat?"
"Mi mean dis," Marcus said, standing up from the table and walking to the other side, pulling out a small velvet box.
Nia's breath caught in her throat as Marcus knelt down before her, opening the box to reveal a beautiful, intricate ring.
"Mi an' Liam have been thinking about this for a while now," Marcus said, his voice steady but full of emotion. "Yuh already our queen in every way. Now we just want fi make it official."
Liam reached for her other hand, his voice soft but clear. "Nia, will yuh marry us? Will yuh be ours, fi di rest of your life?"
For a moment, everything seemed to stop. Nia stared at the two men, her mind racing. They were asking her to be not just with them, but to share her life with both of them, as a family, as partners. It was everything she had dreamed of and more, but it was also terrifying.
But then she looked down at the ring, then back at the two men who had become her heart, her home. They had been with her through everything, supporting her when the world seemed against her, giving her strength when she had none left.
"Yes," Nia whispered, tears welling up in her eyes. "Yes, mi will marry both of yuh. Mi love both a yuh with all mi heart."
Marcus and Liam smiled, their faces lighting up with joy. They both stood up, lifting her from the chair as they pulled her into a hug, their arms wrapping around her tightly.
"We love yuh, Nia," Liam whispered into her hair. "More than yuh'll ever know."
"Dis is just di beginning," Marcus added, kissing the top of her head. "Together, we'll make it all work. We'll build di future we deserve."
---
The night was filled with celebration. They enjoyed a beautiful dinner, talking and laughing about everything from Zion's antics to their dreams for the future. The weight of their past didn't feel so heavy tonight. It was as if the world had shifted, giving them a new chance to build something even stronger than before.
As they left the restaurant, the cool night air felt different-like a new chapter had begun, one where they could finally step forward, hand in hand, without looking over their shoulders.
---
When they arrived home, Nia went straight to Zion's room to check on him, finding him sound asleep, his little hand clutched around his favorite stuffed animal. She stood there for a moment, her heart swelling with love for her son.
Turning around, she saw Marcus and Liam standing in the doorway, watching her with affection.
"This is our family," Nia said softly, her voice filled with certainty. "Together, we can face anything."
Liam nodded, stepping forward. "Together forever."
Marcus wrapped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her close. "And mi promise, no matter wah happen, mi and Liam always by yuh side. We in dis together."
And in that moment, with her family gathered close, Nia knew that no matter what the future held, they would face it together-stronger than ever.
