Light Years

They say that love

Can be traced within our stars,

That no void is vast enough

To come between our scars.

They say many things, and yet

We still trek in light years,

Leaving tracks of space dust

From warp drives fueled by fears.

Just one sound, one outcry,

And here I am, hovering just outside

Your orbital path, wondering—

Dare I cross this Great Divide?

They say our love

Can bridge the deepest scars,

But even the brightest stars are dimmed

When locked by demons behind bars.

So I move across your path

As you brave my stormy skies,

And I gaze at the promise of starlight

In your darkest, fathomless eyes.
