Pleas for help, tears falling, hearts racing. "Is it... over?" A small Y/N spoke with a bloodied knife in her hands. With the bodies of her father, sister, and mother surrounding her, the child was pitiful. As the last survivor of the attack, she had nowhere to go. Her village was gone.
Yet the archons seemed to take pity on her. As the girl sobbed, a gust of wind flew past her, sending dust into her eyes. Y/N squeaked. When her eyes opened again, an anemo vision lay in front of her.
"Wake up..." Y/N startled. she had heard a voice amongst the breeze. a faint whisper. "Wake up..." She heard it more clearly this time. "WAKE UP!"
"Y/NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN! WAKE UP!"
Y/N gasped and sat up. She touched her forehead, finding freezing droplets of sweat. She blinked a few times, dazed, before finding her surroundings. In front of her was her best friend, the kindest girl she knew.
"Mualani... what time is it...
ALSO WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY HOUSE?!"
Mualani giggled. "It's 5 AM! Gotta be up bright and early for our first day of college!" Y/N just sighed and facepalmed. Mualani frowned. "It's sad, though. Why didn't they let us room?"
"Because, you're studying music and dance, and I'm studying animals! They wanted our dorms to be close to our classes."
"I knowwwww, I just wish we could be roomies."
"Me too, but we should probably check who our roommates actually are, instead of fantasizing..." Y/N reached into her pocket, pulling out her phone. "Looks like the official dorm list is up!"
Mualani followed Y/N's lead and pulled out her phone as well. "Hmmm... I'm with someone named Sanganomiya Kokomi! I hope she's nice... What about you, Y/N?"
Y/N scrolled through the list of names. "Kirara, Lynette, Jean Gunnhildr... aha! Y/N L/N!"
"Soooooooooo?" Mualani waited eagerly.
"Looks like I'm rooming with some chick named Kinich."

After grabbing some chicken and waffles from a local store, Mualani and Y/N packed, got into Y/N's car, and drove to Teyvat Academy. Parking the car, the two stepped onto their home for the next 4 years.
"Welp!" Mualani began. "Looks like we're here! I'm off to meet my roomie! See ya in a bit bestie! Love ya!" With that, she was gone.
Y/N giggled and started off to see her own roommate.

"Room 108, room 108.. aha!" Opening the door to her dorm room, Y/N set her bags down. Observing the place, there was a bathroom, a small kitchen, and two beds. One was larger than the other. She quickly decided that the bigger one was hers. Pulling out her phone, Y/N plopped onto her newly claimed bed, only to be met with a yelp. She had just sat on some poor girl!
"I'm so sorry miss! Oh archons, this is one way to meet my roommate..."
"'Miss'?" Y/N was met with the glare. Hazel eyes stared into her own. Y/N's heart stopped. Her roommate... was a dude?!
