As I lay there, my body sinking into the soft sheets beneath us, the quiet of the room wrapped around me like a cocoon. My breath was still uneven, my heart pounding in a rhythm that seemed to echo in the silence. San hovered over me, his cool hands moving gently over my skin, soothing the places his steel grip had marked. I trembled under his touch, not from fear, but from the lingering soreness that now bloomed over my hips and neck like an intimate memory of the intensity we had just shared.
His hands were careful, almost reverent, as they brushed over the faint marks along my hips. His thumbs moved in slow, circular motions, easing the ache from where he had held me so firmly. When his fingers glided to the side of my neck, where his fangs had pierced, I flinched slightly, still tender from the bite. He stilled immediately, his golden eyes searching mine with concern.
"Does it hurt too much?" he asked softly, his voice tinged with guilt as he stroked the sensitive spot with his fingertips.
I shook my head, my lips curling into a faint smile despite the lingering ache. "No... it's not that. It's just—" I paused, trying to find the right words. "I'm not used to feeling like this. Sore everywhere, yes. But it's more than that... I feel alive in a way I never have before."
His expression softened, and the faintest trace of a smile tugged at the corners of his mouth. "Alive," he echoed, his voice low and thoughtful, as though the word carried a weight that only he truly understood. "I suppose that's one way to describe it."
I turned my head slightly, wincing as the motion stretched my neck. "Did I survive my first encounter with intimacy with a vampire lord?" I teased, though my voice was quieter, still laced with exhaustion.
San chuckled softly, the sound low and rich, vibrating against my chest as he leaned closer. "You did more than survive," he murmured, his fingers trailing gently down my collarbone. "You unraveled me, Wooyoung. Completely."
His words sent a shiver through me, and I tilted my head up to meet his gaze. The intensity in his golden eyes had softened now, replaced by something quieter, something deeper. It wasn't just desire anymore; it was a tenderness that made my chest tighten.
I let out a soft sigh, my body trembling slightly under his touch. "I feel like every part of me is... sore," I admitted, my voice trailing off as I looked away. "But it's not just physical. It's like you've left a part of yourself behind, and now I can't stop feeling it. Like I'm carrying you with me."
His hand moved to cup my cheek, turning my face back to his. "Because you are," he said quietly, his voice steady but filled with emotion. "You gave me something no one else ever has, Wooyoung. And I... I left a part of myself with you too."
I swallowed hard at his words, the weight of them sinking into me. My fingers reached up to brush against his cheek, tracing the sharp line of his jaw. "Then don't take it back," I whispered, my voice trembling slightly. "Stay with me, San. Even if it's dangerous, even if it's complicated... just stay."
He leaned down, pressing a kiss to my forehead, his lips lingering there as if he were sealing a promise. "I'll stay," he murmured against my skin, his voice like a vow. "I'll always stay."
The tenderness of his words, his touch, made my chest ache in a way I couldn't explain. I shifted slightly, curling into him as he wrapped his arms around me, holding me close.
I nestled closer to him, my fingers brushing over the smooth lines of his chest as his arms tightened around me, pulling me into the coolness of his embrace. The soreness was still there, a constant reminder of how much we'd pushed each other to the edge, but it was a feeling I didn't mind. In fact, I welcomed it, the intimacy of it, the permanence of what we'd shared.
