Lying in bed, the room dimly lit by the moonlight streaming through the window, I felt a buzzing energy coursing through me, an unrelenting surge that made stillness feel like an impossible task. The silence of the night, usually comforting, now seemed to amplify my restlessness. Every cell in my body was vibrating with newfound vampire vitality, urging me to move, to run, to do anything but lie idle.
Unable to bear the inactivity any longer, I swung my legs out of bed, the cool air of the room brushing against my skin. The mansion was quiet, everyone else seemingly at peace in their nocturnal repose—a stark contrast to the storm of energy raging within me.
Without a second thought, I dashed out of my room, the hallways a blur as I used my vampire speed. I didn't even bother to check if I was being too loud; my focus was singularly on finding someone who could understand, someone who might help me channel this overwhelming drive.
In an instant, I was at Yeosang's door. Without pausing to knock, I sped inside, coming to an abrupt halt beside his bed. There he was, asleep and oblivious to the chaos of my inner turmoil. For a brief moment, I considered backing out, not wanting to disturb his rest, but the urge to do something, anything, was too strong.
"Yeosang," I said, barely containing my energy. When he didn't stir, I leaned over, my face hovering just inches from his, and said louder, "Yeosang!"
His eyes snapped open, and for a second, he just stared up at me, bewildered. Then, irritation flickered across his features, quickly replaced by concern as he took in my wide-eyed, restless appearance.
"What's going on, Wooyoung? It's the middle of the night," he muttered, sitting up and rubbing his eyes.
"I need to move, Yeosang. I can't just lie there. I feel like I'm going to explode," I blurted out, my words tumbling over each other.
Yeosang observed me for a moment, then sighed. He swung his legs off the bed and stood up, reaching for a shirt hanging over the chair. "Alright, let's go then. If you're this wound up, you'll wake up the whole mansion if we stay here."
Grinning, relieved by his understanding and swift agreement, I stepped back to give him space. "Where are we going?"
"To the training grounds. Seems like the only place where you can run to your heart's content without breaking anything valuable," Yeosang replied, now fully dressed and moving towards the door.
I followed him eagerly, feeling the tension begin to ease just from the prospect of doing something active. As we walked down the hall, my feet barely touching the ground, Yeosang glanced over at me.
"New vampire energy can be overwhelming. You'll learn to control it, but for now, let's wear you out a bit. Maybe then you can think about sleeping."
We reached the training grounds, and the cool night air felt invigorating as I inhaled deeply, already feeling better with the open space around me. Yeosang stood at the edge, watching as I started to run laps, each round faster than the last.
"Wait, I thought vampires don't sleep. You liars!" I yelled playfully back at Yeosang as a wave of mischievous energy surged through me.
Without waiting for his reaction, I dashed towards the nearest tree, the same burst of uncontainable energy propelling me forward. With the agility and grace that were still novel to me, I leaped at the trunk and began climbing, my hands and feet finding holds with supernatural ease.
