Chapter 1 A New Day

The morning sun bathes Pallet Town in golden light as Soyo wakes up early in the morning and gets ready for the day.

As I get dressed up, carefully adjusting my backpack, a wide grin spreads across my face that filled with excitement.

Soyo: "Today's finally the day."

I heading downstairs and saw my mother Yuki cooking breakfast. The aroma of sizzling bacon filled the air, making my stomach rumble.

Soyo (POV): 'That smells so good and I'm hungry.'

Soyo: "Good morning, Mom." *I said, before head towards the table and takes a seat, waiting for my mother to finish cooking breakfast.*

Yuki giggles glances at me where I sat down.

Yuki: "Good morning, Sweetie. You seem happy and excited..." *She pauses for moment a gentle smile off her face, before speaking.* "Let me guess...? It's your first day to get your own Pokémon and the start of your own journey."

I nodded in agreement my eyes sparkling with joy.

Soyo: "Yes, Mom. I can't wait to get to Professor Oak's laboratory to choose my own Pokémon for my journey."

Yuki hums in agreement. After a short while, my mother finished and set the food at the table. As my mother placed the plate of food at the table, I grabbed my fork and eagerly devoured the bacon. She also takes a seat, grabbed her fork and eats the food.

Yuki: *Grins* "Careful or you might choke." *She teased.*

Soyo: *Roll my eyes playfully* "Very funny, Mom."

As the mother and daughter have their own playful banter, after they finish eating their breakfast, I push away from the table, stand up, adjust my backpack, and take our plates to the sink. I then head to the front door and open it as I go outside to start my own Pokémon journey, while my mother, Yuki, stands there smiling warmly, holding back her tears. Time sure does fly faster than the wind. My mother, Yuki, hugs me before gently pulling away.

Yuki: "Call me sometimes okay, Sweetie?"

Soyo: *Nods* "Yes, Mom. I promise see you and love you."

As Soyo waves goodbye to her mother, she strides toward Professor Oak's Laboratory. "I'm Soyo Dusk, and my dream is to become a Pokémon Champion and also travel to other regions with my Pokémon, battling trainers." This is my story.
