Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy were completely focused on the young man with the powerful Jolteon, their attention riveted by the overflowing backpack of Poké Balls. Soyo, however, headed back to her inn, the adrenaline fading, leaving behind exhaustion. She needed rest. She flopped down onto her bed. But the image of the burning Pokémon Center, the panicked cries of the people, and the shadowy figure of the Team Rocket Grunt, followed by the unexpected arrival of the young man with his Jolteon, replayed in her mind a relentless loop of fear and frustration. She sat up.

Soyo (POV): 'I shouldn't have been more careless. I can't sleep... Come on, Soyo Dusk, you're better than this... And that Pokémon Trainer...gosh, thanks to him, those PokéBalls are safe now...' *She thought, pulling the thin covers up to her chin and drifting off to sleep.*

The sounds of the city were slowly returning to normal, but the rhythmic whoosh of water and the distant crackle of flames still echoed in her ears, gradually replaced by the rhythmic sounds of water. Firefighters, their faces grim but determined, directed their Water-type Pokémon in a coordinated effort to extinguish the remaining flames. The air vibrated with the powerful jets of water, each spray a shimmering arc of light against the night sky. The scene pulsed with energy, the combined powers of the Pokémon a breathtaking spectacle.

The next morning, the sun rose on a city still recovering. Smoke still curled lazily from the charred remains of the Pokémon Center, a stark contrast to the bustling activity of the renovations in the damaged areas of the city. Soyo woke with a start, the memory of the previous night's chaos sharp in her mind. The faces of the panicked people, the heat of the flames, the chilling presence of Team Rocket... She quickly dressed and prepared for the new day. Stepping out into the street, she was greeted by the sight of firefighters still hosing down the damaged building. At the Pokémon Mart, the employee barely glanced at the destruction before cheerfully greeting customers.

Pokémon Mart Employee: "Welcome... Oh, you're from Pallet Town, great! Here's the package for Professor Oak. You need to get this to him back, please..."

The employee's words hung in the air, the casual tone a stark contrast to the gravity of the situation. Soyo took the package, her fingers tracing the unfamiliar texture of the cardboard.

Soyo (POV): 'Professor Oak? But why would he need a package delivered to him? What if it's a trap? What if it's connected to Team Rocket?'

The questions swirled in her mind as she left, the weight of the package mirroring the weight on her heart.

The anxious thoughts Team Rocket, the fire, the Poké Balls, Professor Oak's surprise churned within her as she took the familiar shortcut through Route 1. The morning sun dappled through the leaves, casting dancing shadows on the path. The chirping of unseen birds was a welcome contrast to the city's cacophony, but her unease persisted. The scent of pine needles and damp earth filled her nostrils, a familiar comfort that did little to ease her worries.

Reaching the Pokémon Laboratory, she found Professor Oak tending to his Pokémon. He looked up, his eyes crinkling at the corners in a familiar smile.

Professor Oak: "Ah! Soyo, what brings you here?"

Soyo: "Package delivery for you, Professor Oak."

She handed him the package. Professor Oak carefully opened it, revealing a stack of Poké Balls. His eyebrows rose in surprise.

Professor Oak: "My, my." *He murmured, his gaze shifting to Soyo.* "Quite the delivery. A token of my gratitude, then. Five Poké Balls to aid you on your journey."

As she accepted the Poké Balls, a flash of movement caught her eye. Standing at the edge of the path leading from Route 1 was the young man with the Jolteon, his expression unreadable. He seemed just as surprised to see her. Before either could speak, a voice cut through the quiet. A smooth, smug voice chuckled.

Random Trainer: "Well, well, well, you look familiar..."

A young man with a mischievous grin stepped into view, his eyes glinting with amusement.

Rio: "I'm Rio, Rio Williams by the way.  We met at the Pokémon Center last night, remember?"
