Izuku lay in bed, staring listlessly at the infirmary ceiling. All Might and Recovery Girl were in the room with him. It was quiet.
"How'd it go?" Toshinori finally asked, breaking the silence.
"It could've gone better," Izuku grunted, as Recovery Girl planted her lips on his arm. "Thanks again, Recovery Girl."
"Call me Chiyo," the nurse hummed. "And for what it's worth, I do apologize for taking that call in front of your sister."
"I can't blame you," Izuku sighed. "It's not like you knew I was Spider-Man. You only just found out. By the way, thanks for that, Toshi."
"Sorry! When I got back, she asked about how you were, and I answered, and she somehow figured it out!"
"It's whatever, I'll be mad about it later," Izuku sighed.
"What exactly happened?" Chiyo asked. "You mentioned a building?"
"New hero on the block, Mt. Lady. She's got a gigantification quirk, and she was fighting someone who also had a gigantification quirk. One thing led to another and I ended up holding up a building, long enough for the people inside to evacuate. I couldn't get clear in time, and-"
"And you got buried," Recovery Girl finished, sighing. "You're too reckless sometimes, you know that?"
"Perhaps, but that's why I have you, right?" he replied, giving her his best charming look.
"Put that in your mouth," she said flatly, thrusting a gummy at him. "You know the drill, it speeds things up."
"I know, I know," he mumbled. "Hey, Toshi. Izumi knew about that."
"About what?"
"About a building falling on me. It scared her, which didn't help," Izuku paused. "I... I don't know how to fix this."
Toshinori and Chiyo exchanged a look. While they'd only just learned his identity, they'd both known the vigilante for long enough to tell that his somber tone was incredibly out of character, and couldn't help but feel bad for him.
"We're not parents, so I don't think we can offer any direct advice," Toshinori said bluntly. "But I can say for sure that that girl loves you. Understandably, she feels hurt, but she'll come around. She cares about you too much to not to."
"Yeah?"
"Besides, I told you, she's a fan of Spider-Man as well, you know. How do you think she knew about your, uh, accident?"
"Accident. That's a nice way to put it," Izuku remarked.
"My point is, she likes Spider-Man and she loves Midoriya Izuku, and if I was in her place, I of course would be having trouble reconciling those two as one, but those two together... It's like cookies and milk, or peanut butter and jelly."
"Wow, a famous All Might analogy," Izuku chuckled weakly. "I'm honored."
"I'm trying, Spidey," Toshinori chuckled. "Just give her space. Trust me, she'll come around."
Izuku sighed, sinking into the sheets."I sure hope so, Toshi," he murmured. "Boy, do I hope so."

As the week drew on, Izumi remained closed off.
Izuku would've preferred that she be angry or yell at him, or something, but she was... quiet. They still ate meals together, but she was silent during that as well.
Izuku figured that the impending results of her exam was also a factor in Izumi's behavior, but she was openly avoiding him.
The exam itself (and Izuku's reveal) was on Tuesday.
