Chapter 6

Keno had invited us to sleep at his apartment since it is quite big and comfortable. I cannot believe that we met a human for the first time. But I cannot shake the feeling off of him. He was so handsome, and had dark black hair. My heart would not stop pounding, my face is flushed pink and I can feel that my scarred eye will open. I felt like I almost forgot about the mission: No, no. I cannot forget the mission. I needed to focus on what was going on and the secrets of what P.E.R.I Robotics has inside. How the raptors are attacking him in the first place, and the grudge between C.L.I and P.E.R.I?

Just yesterday, we had started to adjust to his house. Manako and Tomoka can see a new cartoon on the TV, about the little mermaid from the show. It was based on the Tamami Ramen that we had eaten. I looked at a few drawings that were on Keno's sketchbook and Reika is taking a liking to the little robot he had. Imagine how Mechchan becomes so jealous of that thing.

At long last, we finally went to bed after a late night hang out. I was already asleep in the extra futon that Keno gave to us. It looked comfy and Rin is also able to sleep on the little pillow that is on his desk. By morning, Keno was already up and was already working on the house. The rest of us and his mother are still sleeping since we had a long day of work.

A knock on the door made us wake up. I rubbed my eye tiredly and brushed my blue hair out of my face to see who knocked. Keno was the first to ask, "Who is it?"

"It's your neighbor."

"That's Mrs. Nakano," he said, recognizing the voice. He stood up and began to put on his shirt and his pants. "Can you girls hide?"

And of course, we already did. In his closet. It was very cramped in here, all because of the boxes and the clothes. Tomoka and Manako are squished together, Reika is on the other side in an ankle and I was on the floor, my legs up against the wall and Rin is on my head. Like I said, it was crapped in the closet. I listened and heard the door open up from outside.

"Hey, Mrs. Nakano," Keno's voice said. "What's up?"

"You had been working too hard on your drawings and your research, recently," she said. "Yet, the raptors had been seen on the road again."

"The raptors?" Keno asked, confused.

I grew nervous, trying to cover my mouth to prevent any noise. Manako and Tomoka were also sweating up a storm and Reika is trying to get comfortable. Rin, who is on my head, struggled to keep herself on by tugging my hair. It hurt a little but I had to ease the pain.

"I am so sorry, Nakano san. I had a very difficult start," Keno apologized. "So many raptors and I had to study for school. Plus, the Wing Clan would not leave since they arrived."

"Yeah," the woman nodded. "They had been quite a nuisance. They had been trying to steal important tech for their research and other people's homes. Their leader is just so violent and wanted to take over the city. The police had been searching for her but they couldn't find a trace."

Wing clan? What are they talking about? Was it some kind of gang or something. I suddenly heard Manako stifle a sneeze. I tried to hold out a little long but for some reason. We knocked into each other, making a noise.

"What was that?" Mrs. Nakano asked.

Oh no. She must have heard us. I heard the door open up, making me and my sisters since. But we are still in our sea turtle form and our brooches are on Keno's desk. We couldn't get them but we had to act very fast. I mouthed, didn't move and we went very still and not blinking and held our breath so we could act like toys. How strange that giant toys would come to life and jump out at you. The closet door opened and there was Mrs. Nakano. I am guessing she is around her early 50s due to the small wrinkles in her face. She looked at us and I remained very still to keep from moving.
