.“Luna, it’s me.”
The way Taehyung called him sent a sharp pang through his chest, filled with a tenderness that cut deeper than any knife. That single word wrapped around him like a warm blanket.
But then he looked at himself , and his heart sank. He was sitting on the floor against the wall, painfully aware of how red his eyes must be, how his scent must have shifted to betray his turmoil. He couldn't let Taehyung see him like this, not now.
"Right now I'm... not- in a position to meet you, Your Highness. Can we talk later?" Jungkook shouted back, forcing his voice to remain steady as he pushed himself off the floor, desperately trying to compose himself.
Yet he forgot that Taehyung had trained for years, both in combat and in sensing the emotions of those around him. Taehyung could easily tell something was wrong from just standing outside.
"luna, open the door. We need to talk." Taehyung's voice shifted, adopting a more authoritative tone, but it still held that softness he always reserved for him.
Jungkook felt the weight of those words, a tug of war waging within him.stood frozen for a moment, feeling like a coward. The truth was that he wanted nothing more than to let Taehyung in, to collapse into his arms and cry until there was nothing left. But fear held him back, fear of what might come next if he did...
"Luna," Taehyung called again, his voice soft but insistent. Jungkook found himself unable to deny him once more. With hesitant steps, he made his way to the door, taking a moment to steady his breathing before he turned the handle and opened it.
He didn't look up as he stepped aside, allowing Taehyung to enter. The alpha stepped in, his presence filling the room with warmth. Jungkook could feel the familiar scent of Taehyung wrapping around him like a comforting embrace, yet it only deepened the ache in his heart.
Taehyung's eyes scanned Jungkook's face, searching for the source of his distress. But Jungkook turned his back, unwilling to meet Taehyung's gaze.
"Luna, why are you turning away-"
"Is there something important you need to discuss with me right now?" Jungkook cut him off, surprising both of them. It was the first time he had ever interrupted the alpha mid-sentence.
Taehyung sensed the turmoil in Jungkook's scent, the way the younger was trying his best to avoid his gaze only deepened his concern. He needed to have an honest conversation with Jungkook, so he closed the door behind him and made his way to the intricately carved sofa, settling down.
"Sit beside me," Taehyung said, his voice gentle. He waited, hoping Jungkook would respond, but the younger stayed frozen in place.
Taehyung sighed softly, calling again with more tenderness, "Luna..."
Jungkook hesitated for a moment, then took small, reluctant steps toward the sofa. His head remained bowed as he sat down beside Taehyung, shoulders tense, his silence heavy in the air between them.
Taehyung reached into his sleeve and pulled out a finely woven handkerchief, He gently placed it on the sofa beside Jungkook. "Look at me," he said, his voice soft but commanding.
Jungkook hesitated but slowly lifted his gaze. When Taehyung saw the redness in Jungkook's tear-filled eyes, his heart ached. Without saying a word, he offered the handkerchief as a silent gesture of comfort.
