Rain pelted from the dark gray sky above, pattering against the beige stone of the historically grand castle where a blue light could be seen through the windows of the Great Hall. Annie, Pansy, and Blaise ran as fast as they could from the greenhouses through the heavy rain with their cloaks over their head, trailing in puddles as they entered the dry interior of the school.

"Come on, guys, we'll be late!" Annie shouted behind her as she was the first to enter the building. The trio jogged the rest of the way to where the blue light originated, catching sight of one of the Slytherin 7th-years plopping their name into the goblet. Behind them, a bustling band of Hufflepuffs pushing Cedric Diggory with them brushed past them loudly. Everyone was now standing around, watching. His friends shoved him through the white age line surrounding the goblet and he too put forth his name, grinning at the applause once he'd done it. The three Slytherins ignored the celebrating group near them and walked over to where Draco and their other friend, Theo Nott, were sitting on a bench.

"You think Potter's going to try to cheat the system, Draco?" Pansy snickered and motioned towards the boy in question.

Annie's brother scoffed. "No doubt. He would want more glory, wouldn't he?" He said matter-of-factly and leaned back whilst rolling his eyes the other way. Annie didn't think so similarly. Despite how much the twins hated the Gryffindor, she couldn't imagine why he'd want eternal glory. He had enough already.

Many students around them burst into applause and cheers as the Weasley twins rushed into the hall with vials of potions raised in their hands. They ran right past the Slytherins and gave some people high fives. They boasted about how they'd done it and weren't going to fail, but of course, Hermione Granger had to butt in, leading Annie to notice Aurora Silver accompanying the bushy-haired girl. "It's not going to work!"

"And why's that, Granger?" The twins asked her, to which she scoffed and closed her book shut.

"So, a genius like Dumbledore couldn't possibly be fooled by a dodge as pathetically dimwitted as an Aging Potion," The girl exclaimed. Annie let out a light-hearted 'boo', earning herself a couple of snickers from around the room. She noticed that same Gryffindor boy from yesterday look over his shoulder at her with an amused smirk, rather than an annoyed glare like his ginger counterpart had done.

The Weasley twins snapped back at her remark with a joke and ignored her warning, downing the potions and jumping into the circle. Everyone except the Slytherins applauded their every move until the fire began spewing uncontrollably and shot the two twins across the room. All the students jumped up to get a look at the damage the goblet at done, to which they found that the twins had suddenly looked to be older than Dumbledore. The hall burst into giggles as the two identical boys fought on the ground. Annie almost fell over on the brunette squished next to her in laughter, not noticing who it was. The boy, once again, had already seen.

The bell finally tolled 9, the hour that Dumbledore had deemed the Tournament had begun three days earlier. Students chattered and bustled as everyone scrambled to find a seat in the Great Hall around the still-lit goblet. The Slytherin 4th years sat at their house table, closest to the goblet so they could get a good view.

"So we know the Durmstrang champion is going to be Krum, that's a given," Tracey Davis, a ginger girl in their year, began as she passed a violet-colored sweet to Annie discretely. "Who do you think is going to be ours?"

"Draco's counting on Potter to cheat his way in somehow," Annie teased and popped the gummy sweet into her mouth quickly. Her brother rolled his eyes and stared off boredly whilst the other Slytherin girls giggled and agreed.
