also sorry for the long chapter, I hope it's worth it 🤞

Paige's POV:

This morning I woke up to the sun blazing through Tegans windows. I hummed in annoyance. I flipped onto my side and hid my head in the crook of Tegans neck, blocking the sun from my eyes. Ya no, I was awake now, and not falling back to sleep. I sat up leaning against the wooden headboard. I look down to my side to see Tegan still asleep, damn she was so pretty.

I reached my hand down to her cheek, gently caressing it. Suddenly she blinked her yes open. "Morning" she hummed. Oh my, I forgot about how sexy her raspy morning voice is. "Good morning" I smiled and whispered back to her. "Did you sleep well?" I asked her. "Mhm" she hummed. I laughed, staring at the pillow lines on her face, "I can tell" I whispered, tracing my fingers on the light red lines.

"Hmm where are you going?" I ask Tegan when she starts shifting up. "Oh I was gonna go pee" she said as she got up. "No" I whined. "I'll be right back, I can make us coffee" she shrugged. "No, no, I'll make us coffee, you go pee, meet me in the kitchen" I laughed, getting up and following her down the hallway.

The kitchen is surprisingly full, all the little kids swarming around, attempting to make pancakes. No adults in sight. This can not be good. "Oh Paige is awake!" Brooklyn yells, rubbing over to me and grabbing ahold of my hand. She drags me to the kitchen counter "can you make pancakes for us? The boys burnt the first ones" she huffed.

Raelyn was the youngest girl cousin, all the other youngers being boys. She was a tough cookie, especially when she was constantly surrounded by boys. She always wore a backwards hat, a little tomboy. She had the cutest lisp that made you wanna say yes to whatever she wanted.

"Sure" I laughed, grabbing the spoon from the counter. "Wo, there buddy! let's get down from the counter" I said, grabbing beneath Dallas's armpits and picking him up. "How old are you?" Dallas asked when I put him in a stool. One things about little kids is that they live to question and aren't afraid to ask.

"Same age as your cousin" "nice! I'm seven, Brooklyns five, and the Alex and Cody are seven too" he explained, pointing to each. "Hey we're seven and a half" Alex sassed. Dallas rolled his eyes, making me giggle. I loved kids. "Hey Paigey? Do you like our cousin, cause I think she likes you" Brooklyn smiled.

I bit my lip, trying to hide my smile. Before I could answer, Tegan came down the stairs, walking over and reaching over my shoulder to grab a handful of chocolate chips. "Hey! You thief!" I teased.

A hour later the older cousins and I decided to go and have a boat day. They wanted to show me around town and all their little hide outs. "Grab the towels!" Tegan pointed as we were walking out of the house. I grabbed the stack of beach towels and followed her out the door.

It was a short walk to the boat dock, and when we got there the boys were already there. I smiled at them, noticing an extra boy, I haven't met yet. "Teag?" the guy said. He was definitely our age, blonde scruffy hair and with big green eyes. He was shirtless with blue swim trunks on.

"Omg Jack!" Tegan squealed, running to hug him. The hug lasted a bit too long than I was comfortable with, his hand on her waist was making me cringe. "Don't worry about him, they're just old childhood friends" Merideth whispered in my ear, making me relax a tiny bit.

"How have you been?" He asked Tegan. After that it all kinda faded out, their voices blurring as my jealousy creeped in. But why was I jealous? Jack was just her friend, and me and Teag aren't dating. I know she's aloud to talk other people. But still something inside me flicks when I see it.
