Chapter 10:

The next morning at roll call, the station buzzes with the usual activity as officers prepare for the day. But the atmosphere shifts when Sergeant Grey steps into the briefing room, his expression unusually grim.

Sergeant Grey: (addressing the room)
"Before we begin, I need everyone's attention. Officer Chen is missing. She hasn't reported in since her welfare check at 1843 Grover Avenue last night. Her patrol car was found at the scene, but she's nowhere to be found."

The room falls silent as the gravity of his words sinks in.

Tim Bradford: (standing up immediately)
"Her car was there? Did anyone search the house?"

Sergeant Grey:
"Officers responded this morning but didn't enter without backup. We're heading there now to investigate."

Nyla Harper: (to Tim)
"We'll find her. Let's gear up and get moving."

The officers quickly mobilize, their earlier camaraderie replaced by steely determination. They pile into patrol cars and head to the address, adrenaline coursing through their veins.

At 1843 Grover Avenue, the scene is eerily quiet. Lucy's patrol car sits parked at the curb, untouched. The team fans out, weapons drawn, and approaches the house cautiously.

Angela Lopez: (to Nyla)
"Something about this doesn't sit right. If she left her car, why didn't she call for backup?"

Nyla Harper:
"Let's find out."

Tim takes point, signaling for the others to follow. They enter the house carefully, clearing each room with precision. The signs of a struggle are immediately apparent—overturned furniture, shattered glass, and scuff marks on the floor. But Lucy is nowhere to be found.

Tim Bradford: (clenching his jaw)
"She's not here."

Celina Juarez: (noticing something)
"Look at this."

She points to a faint trail of dirt leading out the back door, as if someone had been dragged. The team follows the trail, which abruptly ends at the edge of the property.

John Nolan:
"They must've taken her. There's no way she left on her own."

Sergeant Grey: (grimly)
"Whoever did this wanted us to know she was here but didn't stick around long enough for us to catch them."

Angela Lopez: (narrowing her eyes)
"This has Elijah Stone written all over it."

Tim Bradford: (angrily)
"Then we know where to start looking. He wants revenge for last year. This is his move."

Chapter 11: The Search Begins

Back at the station, the team regroups to devise a plan. Wesley Evers joins them, bringing his legal expertise to the table.

Wesley Evers:
"If Stone's involved, he won't be working alone. We need to track his associates and figure out where he might've taken her."

Nyla Harper:
"I'll pull everything we have on his known crew. Someone will slip up."

Angela Lopez: (to Grey)
"We need surveillance footage from every street leading to Grover Avenue. If they transported her, there's a trail."

Sergeant Grey:
"Do it. Thorsen, Juarez, check with informants. See if anyone's heard chatter about Stone being back in the game."

Tim Bradford: (standing up)
"I'm not waiting around for leads. I'm hitting the streets."

Sergeant Grey: (firmly)
"Bradford, I get it, but we do this by the book. No solo missions."

Tim Bradford: (reluctantly)

"Fine. But we don't waste time. Every second counts."

As the team scrambles for clues, Lucy remains in the clutches of Elijah Stone, her fate uncertain. The clock is ticking, and the officers of Mid-Wilshire are racing against it to bring her home.

Chapter 12: A Desperate Search

Days turned into weeks, and the disappearance of Lucy Chen weighed heavily on everyone at Mid-Wilshire. Each officer took on the search with unrelenting determination, refusing to believe they wouldn't find her. Tim Bradford, especially, pushed himself and the team to their limits.

Tim Bradford: (at the whiteboard in the bullpen)
"Okay, run it again. Last known location, 1843 Grover Avenue. We've scoured a 10-mile radius. Expand it. Someone saw something."

Nyla Harper: (leaning over a map)
"We've hit every lead from Elijah's known associates. Either they're lying, or he's keeping this very tight."

Angela Lopez: (frustrated)
"Elijah's too smart to leave a trail. He's had a year to plan this."

Sergeant Grey: (to the group)
"I've called in favors from other precincts. Everyone in the city knows to keep an eye out for Lucy."

Aaron Thorsen: (quietly)
"She's been gone for so long. What if we're looking in the wrong places?"

Tim Bradford: (sharply)
"Then we keep looking until we find the right one."

Leads came and went. Informants gave false hope, and surveillance footage turned up nothing definitive. Every dead end chipped away at morale, but no one gave up.

John Nolan: (checking through reports late at night)
"Lucy wouldn't stop for us. We don't stop for her."

Jackson West: (nodding)
"She's out there. We'll bring her home."

Weeks stretched into months. Lucy became more than a missing officer—she was a symbol of hope and perseverance for the team. But as time dragged on, the fear of what they might find grew stronger.
