He sat at his desk, staring at the small memory core in his hands. Arfa-Sys had saved everyone, yet she was gone. The AI wasn't just a tool to Zairai anymore; she was his friend, maybe even the closest thing he had to family during their time trapped in the game.
"I owe you," he muttered.
To bring Arfa-Sys back, Zairai reached out to others he met in GGO. Most ignored his calls, but to his surprise, a few responded:
LLENN and Fukaziroh, still inseparable, were curious about Zairai's plans. "You sure you're not just dragging us into more trouble?" Fukaziroh teased.
Shinon, intrigued by the technical challenge, agreed to help. "If anyone can make sense of that data, it's me," she said.
Akatana, who still insisted on being Zairai's rival, claimed he joined for "dramatic narrative purposes."
The wildcard was Pitohui, who simply showed up one day, grinning as she said, "I missed the chaos. Let's see where this leads."
