Fiona walks into the kitchen where she sees Rebekah trying to feed Alex.
"Cmon, sweet girl. Aren't you hungry, baby?", pleaded Rebekah.
Alex was starting to become fussy but when she saw Fiona her face lit up and she starting mumbling "mama".
Fiona smiled weakly at her and politely asked Rebekah for the child.
"I know this is all short notice.. And I don't know what you vampires eat.. But she likes bananas if you'd like to feed her.", stated Fiona as she took a seat at the table.
She was trying to be nice, she really was. But her mind just kept going back to Joe. Oh, Joe..
Just the thought of him brought tears to her eyes but she was trying to hold it together for Alex, who was staring at Fiona with curious eyes.
"Mama is ok, baby", she told the child as she kissed her, "We're gonna get him back.."

When Rebekah returned to the room with a bowl of mashed bananas, she couldn't help but notice how defeated Fiona looked as she placed Alex in her arms.
"So you're the powerful Supreme?", asked Rebekah, at an attempt to lighten the mood.
"I just lost the love of my life, and now this Niklaus is trying to take my daughter. So please, spare me the small talk."

"I'm sorry", was all Rebekah could think to say.
They sat in silence for a while, watching Alex enjoy the bananas her aunt had retrieved from the pantry.
"No, I'm sorry", Fiona replied, "I'm not her biological mother either. I'm her grandmother, technically speaking. Her mother.. died. I found her and I've raised her ever since."

"You don't have to explain yourself, Fiona. It's clear you love this little girl with all your heart. And I know we don't know each other, but we love Alex too", explained Rebekah.
"I can't think straight", complained Fiona, "I need to get Joe. I can heal him.. But I'm not just going to leave Alex here with Niklaus.."
"I'll watch her", suggested Elijah, "I won't let anything happen to her while you're gone. And Rebekah can go with you."

"How do I know I can trust you?", asked Fiona.
"Because", replied Elijah smoothly, "We are her family too. And family means everything to us."
Fiona cringed to herself as she thought of Cordelia..

"Ok", she finally spoke up, "But if you hurt my child, there won't be any place on this earth you will be able to hide where I won't find you."
