" It was her, my baby... My beautiful baby.. She was going to be the next Supreme! ", Fiona whispered through tears as she cradled Cordelia's limp body.

The Axeman sat down next to Fiona, not sure what to do. All he wanted was to take her pain away.

They sat like that for a few more minutes until Fiona laid Cordelia gently back down on the ground.

"I guess we should go?", she asked him as she regained her composure. She stood up, wiped her bloody hands off on her black dress, and looked down at The Axeman.

" Fion-"

"Don't", she said cutting him off as she absent-mindedly started to walk around the dead bodies, " Please... don't. I can't afford to break down again, because next time I might not get back up."

He stood up, walked over to where she was and made sure she was looking at him, "I love you, Fiona. I really do."

Just as she smiled at him weakly, both of their thoughts were interrupted by the piercing sound of a crying baby.

"Cordelia's baby..", he stated.

Fiona started up the stairs and headed in the direction of the noisy baby. She opened the door and the crying intensified. Fiona walked over to the bassinet, and just stared at the tiny infant.

" We can't just leave it here", The Axeman stated from the door.

"'Her"', Fiona corrected smiling, "It's a girl."

"Well", stated Joe (The Axeman) as he watched Fiona watch the baby, "What are we going to do, baby doll?"

Fiona looks at him with terror in her eyes, "We'll leave her here."

Joe walks past her, picks up the baby and gently rocks her. She stops crying almost immediately.

He smiles at Fiona, "C'mon, Fi, she can't be more than a month old. Besides, this is your grandchild!"
Damn him, she thinks to herself. She knows deep down that she doesn't deserve him, or that beautiful baby in his arms. Hell, she just helped murder her own daughter. She hardly qualifies as a fit grandmother.

"I am a wretched human being.. A mean goddamn bitch; I always have been. How can you honestly look me in the eye and tell me that we're fit to raise a child?"

"This child", he starts, " is our new beginning! You can be everything to her that you never were to Cordelia. And I'll be here to help you every step of the way! "

Fiona can't say no. She loves him, and if this is what he wants, she'll give it a shot.

Fiona walks over to him and takes a closer look at the baby. She's surprised to see the baby has her eyes. The little girl is so alert. Those eyes ain't missing nothing, thinks Fiona.

"Alexandria", states Fiona, " we'll call her Alexandria."

He places the child into Fiona's arms, and as he does there's a silent question that neither of them are willing to ask aloud: What if this child is next in line to be the Supreme?
