Blind Dates~ For Erika

Erika

"Erika open the door!" I groaned out my bed as I heard someone banging on my door.

I walked down the steps to open the door to see it was my friend Cerria.

"Do you know what time it is? Why are you banging on my door!" I said loudly.

"I got you a date! Tonight at 7pm."

A date? She knows that I'm not looking for a man right now. Especially one of her "Guy Friends"

"We'll call it off because I'm not going." I said crossing my arms.

"Please Eri? I promise if this don't work out, I won't set you up on no more blind dates."

The lies...

"You said that the last time, and the time before that...and also-"

"Okay yes I said it plenty of times  but I just don't want you to be in the house every time. You need a man. And plus.... I think this guy is the right one." I rolled my eyes.

"Fine, BUT I'm serious... If this one don't work out. IM NOT going on any more... Got that?"

She squeals then grabs my hand. "Let's go!"

"Wait, where are we going" I asked. "Out to get you an outfit."

"First I have outfits inside and I can't go anywhere looking like 'who did it and why'  are you crazy?"

"Fine go freshen up, got 30 minutes." She says.

"An hour."

"Fine"

I run upstairs to get in the shower, I do my daily hygiene, and I curl my hair. I lotion down and put on my clothes.

I grabbed my purse and phone and went downstairs.

"Let's go." I said and we walked out the house.

Willie

After practice I showed in the locker room and walked out.

"Hey rook, let me talk to you." Ben Mclemore came up to me.

"Hey." I said.

"Let's take a walk." He put his arm around my neck, as we walked side by side.

"How would feel if I said I set you up for a blind date?"

"Why?" I said and he started smirking. "Cuz man you need a girl. When the season starts and we go to celebrate, your gonna be alone and shit." He said.

"I'm just not ready yet." I said. We walked outside. "Please man? She's really cute and you will love her." I groaned.

"Fine." I said. "Good, meet us at la'creme delights down town."

I get in my car and drive home.

Erika

"SLAY GIRL SLAY" Cerria said clapping. It was 6:30 and we was about to go to the restaurant.

I had on a long black dress that split at the thigh. Silver Heels and a black clutch purse. I flat ironed my hair. Cerria was right. I was Slaying.

"Okay let's go!"

We got in the car and drove to the restaurant.

When we got there Cerria gave me a prep talk... Like I've never been on a date before.

"....and most importantly.... Be yourself." I smiled as I got out the car.

We walked up to the restaurant and I saw 2 men. One of the men hugged Cerria and the other one started at me.

"Willie, this is my best friend Erika." Cerria said.

I shook his hand. "Wow, you look amazing tonight." He said to me. I blushed a little.

"Thanks." I said. "You look handsome yourself."

"Well guys have fun." The guy said. "By the way... I'm Ben." I smiled and shook his hand. "Nice to meet you."

Me and willie walked into the restaurant. "Table for 2" willie asked.

The waiter walked us to our table. Willie pulled out my chair. "For Mrs. Erika" I smile. "Such a gentleman."

Within an hour, I knew everything about willie. He grew up in Spearville, Kansas. Grew up as an only child and is in the NBA. He also adores puppies.

I'm really having a great time. The best time I had in forever.

"So, Erika... What do you like to do on your spear time?" Willie asked picking up his drink.

"Watch Netflix" I say and he gasped. "Me too! We need to watch it together someday." He says.

"Definitely." After dinner we took a walk around the block.

We stared asking random questions.

"Reese Peanut butter cups...or Reese pieces?" He asked me.

"Cups... Okay I got one. Nikes or Jay's?" I said.

"Nikes... I'm sorry but they got some pretty decent sneakers." He says. I shake my head.

" I like Nike but I love Jay's" I said. We found the closest bench and sat on it.

"I had a fun time tonight Erika." I smiled. "So did I, wanna do it again?" I say.

"Sure when?" He asked. "Friday night at my house we can watch Netflix's and order Pizza Hut." I say.

"Sounds like a plan...but we can order Dominos." He says.

"Chinese Food?" I say.

"Deal" we shake hands and I give him my phone number and he give me his.

I smile at him, we both lean in for a long kiss.

We both let go.

"Well I guess...I'll see you Friday." I say.

"See you Saturday." He says before we both walk different ways.
