When I got home I untied my shoes and jumped on the couch to check my phone, I opened up Instagram and looked at my ' you may know' and there it was...his name. I didn't follow him but I checked his account and my heart dropped, 8 million people followed him. Under his user, it said 'artist' guess that music dream worked out... I turned off my phone and stood putting it in my pocket and starting to make my way to my wardrobe to get ready for tonight.
My eyes wandered along my hung-up clothes and I finally laid eyes on the perfect black mini-skirt, I grabbed the hanger that held it up and searched for the top. A red top stood out so I grabbed that too, and stood in the mirror holding the clothes up in front of me.
I dressed myself and did my makeup in the mirror until I was ready for the party. My phone dings and I look at the time and realize I should probably go. I walk outside onto the streets of New York and whistle at a cab, It stops in front of me and I get in the yellow taxi, and tell him the address. The windows were down and I could hear the music from a street down.
"just around the corner here,"I handed him my crumpled-up cash and stepped out of the vehicle to smell the scent of cigarettes filling the air around me, 'I thought vaping was the new addiction that gives cancer.' Nervously, I almost walked in until the bouncer stopped me.
"name?" He looked me up and down in a way that says 'im just doing my job
I quickly snap out of my thoughts that always stimulate my brain just to cause anxiety
"oh, I'm Juliette Evans" I bit down my lower lip in a nervous way.The bouncer was tall, stern-faced, and had a no-nonsense attitude as he flipped through the pages on his clipboard, the edges of his A4 papers fluttering as he scanned the names. Then his eyes darted back and forth; my name was nowhere to be found. He muttered something under his breath, giving an exaggerated sigh. "You're not on the list,"
he said; his tone was irritated as if I were a bother to him just by being there. I could feel frustration well up inside me, ready to open my mouth and argue, explain the mix-up, or maybe even try to bribe my way in. Just as I was about to speak, I heard a smooth, confident voice cut through the air from behind him—
"She's with me."
It was, of course...Theo. He was surprisingly dressed differently as if he tried. The bouncer quickly moved out of the way and let me in, looking embarrassed for whatever reason. Theo led me the way to the top, the lights were red and blue and everyone was yelling and drinking. The music filled my ears till the point Theo had to talk in my ears."Wow.. this place is amazing, Who party's this?" I yell in his ears, giggling
"Just a friend...you don't know them, but yeah his parties are pretty cool besides the drunk fighters." he jokes at the last bit and talks in my ear.We had finally made it to the roof, I felt the wind on my face, it was less packed here but still a lot of people talking and partying.
"I'll grab you a drink I'll be back" He snapped his fingers and did little finger guns before he turned around. It felt as if I was the only sober, non-vaping, or smoking person here, I stood there not knowing what to do, I hadn't been to many parties after all. I heard him call my name with drinks in his hand grinning at me with that stupid smile I grew up with.Out of nowhere a model-like blonde, blue-eyed, girl, with straight teeth and wearing Valentino heels I could afford in only my dreams, came up to him with a smile that screamed 'I didn't have to get my teeth done in Turkey' and kissed his cheek and said the words that shouldn't have broken my heart the way they did"
"hey babe.. who's this?"
