After the chaos on the beach last night, I kept running. I ended up in which I'm guessing is the rich part of the outer banks. Mansions were placed everywhere, I hadn't seen this luxury for a long time.
I don't really remember much else from yesterday, the sound of the gunshots still lingering in the back of my mind. A constant reminder that I should get far away.
Now that brings the question of where I am. To be honest, I don't even know myself. Right now, I'm aimlessly walking. I don't have a specific destination in mind, I just know I need to get out of here. Maybe I could find some food before I leave, I don't remember the last time I ate. I guess I took those home cooked meals for granted.
"Well well well, look what we have here," I heard a voice speak from behind me.
I immediately recognised the voice as I heard it, stopping in my tracks but not turning back to look at him. Asshole..
This time it wasn't just him, I could hear more footsteps approaching. This caused my nerves to spike. What the hell did he want?
"Hey I'm talking to you," he shoved me in the back, causing me to stumble forward, dropping to my knees.
I winced as my knee hit the ground. That was definitely going to bruise. I could hear him and his friends chuckling behind me.
I tried to get up but a foot prevented me from doing so. Asshole came around to face me as one of his friends held me down with his foot.
He smirked as he crouched down to be at my eye level. "What are you doing here huh? This is our side of the island," he told me in a low threatening tone.
"Im leaving okay?" I said, trying not to let my fear show in my voice, but I think he could already tell how afraid I was.
"Hell yeah you're leaving," he said, a smirk gracing his features.
All of a sudden I felt a foot collide with my ribs, sending a jolt of pain through me. I let out a grunt of pain as tears stung my eyes.
I could hear them all laughing above me as they continued to kick me. All but one.
"Hey guys I think she's had enough," the guy chuckled, stopping his friends.
I curled into myself on the ground as pain radiated throughout my body. 3 against 1. Pussies.
"That'll teach you to stay off of our side of the island," asshole said, him and his friends starting to leave.
I made eye contact with one of the guys and there was a glint of something in his eyes that I couldn't place.
Then there I was. By myself, a shaky mess on the ground. I couldn't bring myself to move - I couldn't. The pain was too much..

My eyes peeled open, remnants of sleep clouding my vision. I went to reach my arm up to wipe my eyes but that's when the pain hit me. I groaned in pain. Everything hurt. Every muscle, every bone, every limb..
"Hey she's awake!" A voice yelled, making me wince as I noticed the major headache I had going on. But that voice.. I swear I've heard it before.
Suddenly, footsteps came running into the room and 4 faces appeared above me. A girl and 3 boys.. wait. I've seen these people before.
My eyes widened in realisation, memories from the beach coming flooding back to me. He was the guy with the gun.. they were holding him back.. he almost drowned..
I tried to move but pain shot up my body, making me wince.
"Hey, don't move. You got hurt pretty bad," the girl said with a sympathetic look. They all had sympathetic looks.
I looked at her with uncertainty in my eyes.
"Hey, your name is Abby right? Pope told us you spoke to him at the party," she said kindly, crouching down next to me.
My eyes immediately went to Pope. He was the guy that bumped into me. I shook his hand.
My eyes then glanced over at the blonde boy. He was the one with the gun.
As my eyes locked onto him, he ran a hand through his hair with a sigh and looked at the others as if he wanted to say something but was holding back, looking between his friends.
"Where am I? How..how did I get here?" I asked, my voice hoarse and quiet, as I looked back at the girl.
"You're at my house," one of the boys told me. He was the one who almost drowned. He still had a black eye. "Me and JJ found you on figure 8, you were pretty beat up."
I swallowed the lump in my throat, I couldn't cry in front of these people. I need to get out of here as soon as possible.
The boys excused themselves and I could hear them talking about me in another room.
The girl looked at me "I'm Kie," she kindly smiled at me. "It's nice to have another girl around here to talk to."
"Yeah," I whispered. I just wanted to sleep, to forget about all this.
"I'll let you rest, you look tired," she told me, standing up but I quickly grabbed her hand.
I looked up at her swallowing, "thank you," I told her. The least I could do was thank her.
She smiled at me "of course, the boys brought you back, you should thank them too," she said, squeezing my shoulder and headed off to the other room, leaving me by myself.
I closed my eyes. I actually felt.. safe? I slowly started to drift off into a peaceful slumber.
