Although the bathroom was just like a plain, regular bathroom, the shower was the best I've had since I can remember.

I had to be careful around my arm, but I washed my hair quickly, and tried to scrape some of the dried blood from my skin.

When I got out, I realized I didn't bring clothes in with me, so I had to settle for tightly tying the towel around my body so I could make it back to my bedroom.

Of course, it's just my luck that Blake happened to be walking out of his room as soon as I opened the door to the bathroom.

Deciding to avoid any awkward confrontations, I ignored him and instead pushed past, and to my bedroom door.

"Nice legs." I heard the smirk on his voice, and rolled my eyes disgustedly.

"Thanks." I answered sarcastically, and went into my room.

Once I was dressed in a long sweatshirt and a pair of spandex shorts, I walked out and made my way downstairs to the kitchen.

The smell was amazing and I couldn't help but smile at the thought of food.

"What is it?" I asked, sitting at a bar stool by the counter and peering over Cole's shoulder to better see what was on the stove.

"Nothing special." He shrugged. "I just made you grilled cheese." He turned around with a plate and set it on the counter.

"Coming from someone who's been stealing scraps from dumpsters behind local restaurants for the past two weeks, any food is special to me, Cole." I gave him a sad smile and reached for the food.

Cole silently stared at me as I ate, and I couldn't help but feel self-conscious, which is something I've only felt two or three times in my life.

"Is there something wrong?" I asked once I finished, sitting back in my chair and sliding the plate away from me.

"No." He smiled innocently and I narrowed my eyes disbelievingly at him.

"You know, you seem a little too nice to be a big, bad gang leader." I said suspiciously.

"Sweet Ady," I shivered at the name. My father used to call me that. "I'm nice to those I trust and who trust me. If I see a reason to be threatened by you, then I'll act upon that, and protect myself and my family. Ever heard the saying 'innocent until proven guilty'?"

"I prefer 'guilty until proven innocent'."

"I see you're also a 'glass half empty' kind of girl." He smirked.

"I must say, I'm a little concerned by how well you already know me." He smiled at me quickly.

"Well you are rather predictable."

"Fine, I may be predictable, but at least I'm effective in getting the job done, which is all that really matters." I stated matter of factly.

"I suppose." He spoke arrogantly, walked out of the room.

"Where are you going?" I asked curiously.

"To watch a movie. You're welcome to join." I could hear the smug smirk in his voice as I got off the stool and followed him through the hallway.

Couldn't hurt.

"So you guys don't have maids, or chefs, or butlers or anything?" I asked, taking note of how Cole made the grilled cheese himself.

"Why bother?" He shrugged.

"I don't know, it just seemed like with all the money and power you guys have, you'd have servants to do your work for you." I answered, sitting on one of the couches as we entered the room.
