Everything was hectic but Gabriel and Khaine were going to get this finished. Khaine was driving down a back road to get to the next location with Gabe riding shotgun next to him. "Remember back in high school when you almost broke your leg?" Khaine asked glancing at Gabriel who was chuckling. "Which time?" Gabe asked.
"Senior year, 4th football game in the 3rd quarter I think."
"How the f^ck do you remember that?"
Gabe asked, laughing. "Because you did break your leg that night." Khaine said turning onto the main road again. The silence was deafening. "I remember that race." Gabe said, the race that caused him to put a metal bar into his leg and cost him his entire football carerr at 18, replaying in his mind. "To tell you the truth, right now reminds me of that race." Khaine said as his skid to a stop. He stared at the stitching on the wheel. Gabriel looked at him. "Let's finish this race. I'll buy you a beer or two."
Khaine took his foot off of the break and started to pull out of the small driveway into traffic when a car hit the side of the vehicle.
Gabe sat in his car as he remembered the last words they spoke to each other. The impact killed Khaine instantly. He was sitting in an abandoned packaging warehouse that's used for races. He sat there thinking about what happened less than 2 hours ago. He abandoned his own team, his own crew. Gabe sighed deeply and closed his eyes listening to his idleing car. The car he rebuilt from the ground up. The same car that Khaine died in a year ago.
A few days later, Gabriel recieved a letter of his own;
G. Waters,

More information will be released soon,
Regards, Challenge Cordinators.
He sat on his couch reading the letter when his cat jumped beside him, rubing his head against Gabriels leg. He absent-mindly pet his head as Lukis laid on his lap purring. Gabe set the letter down adn sighed, rubing his eyes. Lukis was purring. Gabe got up and set the cat aside as he got up to get a soda. He found a Mountain Dew and popped it open and took a drink. He closed the fridge and the pictures caught his eye. Gabriel walked over and picked up the oldest one: him, Khaine, a very old friend named Rose, Mitchel, and Tess back in high school when they were all Seniors at graduation day. It was roughly 9 or 10 years ago.
They were sitting in the back of Khaines old pickup truck as Roses dad took the picture. He smiled. He set it down. He's been cooped up in here for too long. Gabe looked at the clock: /8:57/. He grabbed his coat and his keys. "Hitting the road's tonight."
Gabriel always knows where the race action is. He pulled up in the Charger and everyone parted like the Red Sea. He poped that baby into park, pushed a button, then turned off the car. One of the lady's opened the hood. Gabe knew waht he was driving. "Hermano!" A familiar accent yelled as she walked over. He smiled and hugged her. "Lana Diez. How are you?" He asked. She shrugged standing up. "Business is good." Lana chuckled. He smiled and nodded as she continued, "What are you doing here?" Lana crossed her arms. "Eh, wanted to see some young blood race." She nodded. "Ah. Yes, we're getting more betting on pink slips." Gabe chuckled. "No more betting on who's woman?" He asked grinning as Lana replied with "We're talking about the new generation of racers, correct?" The both of them laughed.
Lana Diez is a successful street race operator. She tells the next when and where. As a 24 year old, she has skyrocketed being apart of the local racing community than being stuck as a waitress or a janitor. She knows all of the gossip about racers or new car models.
A few racers walked up to Lana and started asking her questions in Spanish so Gabriel walked amongst others and glanced at cars debating the cost of most or any specific engine or motor part when Lana walked back to him. "Hey, can you ref?" She asked. "Sure." He answered. "Good. My ref just got sh0t-up in his own house." And she walked away talking to her body guards in Spanish. "Looks like my night just got better." He mumbled as he moved his way to the racing strip, two cars already lined up and ready to go. 'Just two racers in a friendly race. No biggie.' He thought as he raised his arms. "Go!" And a gun sh0t resonated through out the area.
