What fear of me caused that word to belittle me...
Speaking highly professionally
To him it was aggressively,
The white man's fear that I would be promoted before him...
Looking in the mirror,
Is the same reflection seen in Corporate America
Are politicians worthy of the power of a strong black woman...
Why am I ridiculed when I'm needy and intimating when I'm flying higher than ceiling...
When will mankind stop playing us against each other,
Forcing us to compete with our own sisters,
Because you want to limit how many of us can enter...
Is it because I can outperform my work hours and still flourish love at home without having a back bone...
The fact that I can protect my family without brawny muscles to save me...
I can set a trend and extinguish fires blown at me...
I am the bread winner of the family...
Why is expressing my truth, me having an attitude,
Why am I judged when I'm wearing a suit,
The perfect woman for you when I'm in fitted Fashion Nova jeans looking cute...
How is my beauty acceptable but my intelligence discredited...
Centuries of being misunderstood
Now we're being taken back to when our choices wasn't heard...
When being a lesbian was absurd...
Dainty and controlled,
Doing whatever we are told...
We won't accept disrespect anymore...
Persecuting the black woman no more...
We're the dominate force of nature in this world...
"Relax, won't be heard"
We have the voice of Presidency to run the world...
Dark skinned women deserve equality
Without thinking we need skin bleaching to fit your ideology...
Our appearance and assertiveness is not intimidating,
How much longer will us black women be segregated...
