Y/N
4/20/2020
The late afternoon sun cast a golden glow over the Huh family's backyard as Y/N chased Yunjin's little brother around, laughing as they darted through the grass. They'd been at it for a while, playing an improvised game of tag that involved plenty of "no running too far!" reminders from the kitchen window. Y/N could hear faint sounds of activity inside—the murmur of Yunjin's mom and Rachel's voices as they helped Yunjin get ready, the occasional teasing laugh drifting out, and his anticipation grew each time he heard her name.
After one last game, Y/N glanced at his watch and ruffled the little guy's hair. "Alright, time out, buddy. I better get cleaned up before your sister kicks me out for being late."
Yunjin's brother grinned and mock-saluted him before racing off to grab a snack. Y/N headed inside, greeting Mrs. Huh with a nod and a quick smile as he made his way to the guest bathroom. The shower felt refreshing, the cool water easing the excitement building in his chest. This was prom night with Yunjin, something they'd both imagined for so long. Once he was dressed in his suit—a classic black tux with a crisp white shirt and a pale pink tie to match Yunjin's dress—he adjusted his collar in the mirror and ran a hand through his hair, feeling ready but unable to shake a slight flutter of nerves.
After heading back downstairs, he joined Mr. Huh in the living room. They exchanged a few friendly words about last night's Knicks game, but Y/N's attention kept wandering to the stairs, his heart skipping each time he thought he heard footsteps.
Then, he heard Rachel's voice call out, "Alright, sis, you're good to go!" And in the next moment, he caught sight of her descending the spiral staircase.
The world seemed to stop, the murmur of the television fading into a quiet hum as he took in the sight of her. Yunjin was breathtaking, wrapped in a pale pink, ankle-length dress that hugged her figure perfectly, the soft fabric flowing as she moved. The delicate V-neck highlighted her graceful collarbones, and the diamond necklace around her neck sparkled softly against her skin. Dangling pearl earrings framed her face, adding a subtle elegance, and she wore black stiletto heels that made her appear even taller, accentuating her long, slender legs.
Y/N's jaw dropped, his eyes widening as he took in every detail. She looked like a vision, her cheeks a fair blush, slightly tanned but radiant in a way that made him feel completely mesmerized. He'd seen her countless times before, in every possible setting, but this... this was different. He was completely at a loss for words, his heart pounding as she reached the bottom of the stairs.
Yunjin's lips curved into a playful smile as she gave him a little twirl, her dress flaring slightly with the movement. "What do you think, Mr. Superstar?" she teased, her voice soft but filled with amusement.
He blinked, realizing he'd been staring, and managed to stammer, "You... you look..." He cleared his throat, swallowing hard as he tried to find the words. "Beautiful. I mean, more than beautiful. I don't even think I have a word for it."
Yunjin laughed softly, her cheeks coloring slightly as she took his hand. "Glad you approve," she whispered, giving his hand a gentle squeeze.
They spent the next few minutes taking photos in the backyard, her mom and Rachel directing them from various angles. Y/N posed dutifully, grinning as Mr. Huh occasionally threw in good-natured comments about how Y/N should "keep up that same look of amazement all night" and how "no other guy should get within ten feet." Y/N only laughed, nodding in complete agreement. When Rachel asked for a few "super cute" shots, Y/N and Yunjin leaned in close, their foreheads touching, their expressions soft and full of affection.
