Trapped in the ruthless world of Fenix Romao, a cold-hearted mafia kingpin, Venus Hart's innocence becomes both her shield and her curse. As their lives collide in a storm of passion, danger, and betrayal, love becomes the deadliest game of all. Wil...
Venus wakes up, the sunlight slipping through her curtains. She sits on the edge of her bed, her body still heavy with exhaustion but her mind calmer than the night before. Taking a deep breath, she whispers to herself, "One step at a time." Then, she stands and heads toward the day.
Venus pulled on her black top and tucked it neatly into her brown skirt. She grabbed her blazer, smoothing it down, and tied her hair back into a ponytail. After slipping on her trench coat and bag, she paused at the door, taking a deep breath before stepping outside, ready for another day at college.

(Her dad was at work) Venus walked into the kitchen, where her mom was busy packing lunch for her little brother. She gave them both a quick smile.
"Bye, Mom," she said, walking over to give her a hug.
"Stay safe, honey," her mom replied, pulling her close.
She ruffled her little brother's hair. "See you later, champ."
He waved eagerly, grinning up at her. "Bye, Venus!"
With one last look around the house, she grabbed her bag and stepped out the door, her mind already on the day ahead.

FENIX'S POV
She thinks she can slip past me, disappear into her little world of med school and innocence.
"Stupid."
She doesn’t have a fucking clue what she’s up against.
Fenix slammed his fist on the desk, his voice low and cold, laced with fury.
“Find out everything you can about her. I want names, addresses, schedules—**everything.** You get me one fucking detail wrong, and I’ll make sure it’s the last mistake you ever make.”
He paced, the tension in his jaw betraying his simmering anger.
“I don’t care if you have to follow her, hack her fucking phone, or talk to every asshole she’s ever met. Get me results. Now.”
There was a pause on the other end of the line. Fenix’s eyes narrowed.
“I don’t want to hear excuses. Do your job, or I’ll find someone who can.”.
Fenix’s anger simmered just below the surface, his jaw tight and his fists clenched. Every time he thought about her trying to get away, it only made him angrier. He could feel his blood boiling, and he knew he wasn’t going to let her slip through his fingers again. She had no idea what kind of storm she was about to bring down on herself.
° A few hours later °
Fenix’s bodyguards stepped into the room, holding a folder filled with details about Venus. Fenix didn’t even look up as he grabbed it, flipping through the pages quickly. He didn’t care how they got the information—he just wanted results.
"Everything," he muttered under his breath, eyes scanning over the details.
One of his men spoke up cautiously, "She keeps a low profile, boss, but we’ve got addresses, places she visits, her routine..."
Fenix’s gaze never left the papers, his mind already working on the next move. He didn’t say anything for a moment, just letting the silence hang heavy in the air. Then, without a word, he nodded.
“Good. Now we make our move.”
Fenix’s anger boiled over as he paced in his office. He’d had enough of Venus’s defiance. His patience had worn thin.
He grabbed his phone, speaking into it coldly. "*Get her. Now.*"
Within minutes, his men were on the move. They tracked Venus as she walked through the quiet streets, unaware of the danger approaching.
As she rounded a corner, two of Fenix’s men stepped out from the shadows, blocking her path. Before she could react, one grabbed her from behind, pulling her arms behind her back with a force that left her gasping for breath.
"*Let go of me!*" Venus shouted, struggling against their hold, but they were stronger, too strong for her to break free.
The man who held her tightened his grip, making sure she couldn’t escape. "*You’re coming with us,*" he muttered.
Minutes later, Venus was forced into the back of a black van, and the doors slammed shut behind her.
Fenix’s orders had been clear. He knew how to handle her.

VENUS' POV
I stepped out of the cafeteria, the sun still high in the sky, and made my way across the campus. The hustle and bustle of students made me feel like everything was normal—until the hairs on the back of my neck stood up.
I glanced over my shoulder, but no one seemed to be paying attention. Still, something felt off. Before I could process it, two men stepped out from an alley, blocking my path. My heart skipped.
"Don’t scream," one of them hissed as they grabbed me. I barely had time to react before they pulled me into the alley. I struggled, trying to fight them off, but their grip was ironclad. The world around me blurred as I was shoved into a van, panic rising in my chest. I kicked, I screamed, but they didn’t care. I was trapped.
And I knew, with a sinking feeling, that Fenix’s people were in control now.
The van was too quiet. My hands were tied behind me, and every bump in the road made my heart race faster. I twisted in my seat, trying to break free, but the ropes were too tight.
My mind spun—*Where were they taking me?* *Why was this happening?*
The sun was still high, but it all felt wrong, like I was trapped in a nightmare I couldn’t wake up from. The van slowed, and my stomach twisted. I knew I wasn’t going to get out of this easily.
