1 week later

Raj was knocked out on me, her face buried in the crook of my neck, breathing soft and steady. Her arm was slung over my stomach, holding me like I was her favorite pillow. It felt good having her close again, peaceful and grounded like this. These little moments made all the drama we'd been through feel like it might've been worth it.

But my live? Oh, they weren't giving me a moment of peace. The chat was moving so fast I could barely keep up.

"Y'all so damn cute, I can't take it!"

"Look at Raj knocked out like she own Kami lmaooo."

"Kami, you better not move! You're officially her mattress now."

I smirked at the screen, shifting the camera so it caught just me. No way was I letting them see Raj like this, not in her softest moment. "First of all, Raj do own me," I said, keeping my voice low so I wouldn't wake her. "But don't get no ideas, 'cause ain't nobody claiming me but her and Moni, so let's get that straight right now."

The comments exploded.

"Oop, claim your women then!"
"Kami said don't play about her people!!"
"Aggressive and soft at the same time?? Goals."

But then, of course, somebody had to ruin it: "Oh, now she not too aggressive?"

I froze for a second, narrowing my eyes at the screen like the comment had personally offended me. "Who said that?" I asked, sitting up a little but careful not to disturb Raj. "Nah, what dirty ass hoe said that?"

The chat lit up with laughing emojis, people hyping me up like they knew I was about to pop off.

"Lemme tell y'all something real quick," I started, shifting the camera closer to my face. "Your a bitch, your mothers a bitch , and you dirty as fuck bitch fuck you."

The comments exploded again:

"Not Kami clearing the whole bloodline "
"Y'all better stop playing with her!!!"
"Kami got that protector energy down pat. I love it."

I let out a breath, leaning back against the couch again as I felt Raj stir slightly, her arm tightening around me. I ran my fingers down her back, a small smile creeping onto my face despite the irritation.

"Anyway," I said, dragging the word out, "what y'all on now? Don't get me heated again 'cause I'm trying to enjoy my peace tonight."

The chat was already back to their usual antics: "Raj looks so comfy on you." "Not her breathing all cute in her sleep 😭." "Moni and Raj are lucky as hell to have you!"

I laughed quietly, careful not to wake her. "Right! My girl don't even snore. She just lay here soft and perfect." My eyes flicked back to the screen as a new comment caught my attention.

"Where Moni at tho?"

I smiled at that, adjusting my arm so Raj could stay comfortable. "My baby getting her hair done," I said, my voice softening. "Y'all already know she gotta keep it laid. Don't worry, she'll be back soon enough."

The comments shifted to jokes and compliments again, and I kept scrolling through, feeling a little lighter. For the first time in a while, everything felt right—even if we weren't all the way back to where we used to be yet.

3hrs. Later

Moni walked into the room like she was the main character, her fresh install swinging like she just left the salon chair—edges laid like a prayer. I propped myself up, already grinning. She knew she looked good.

"Okay, you look real good" I called, my eyes dragging from her head down to the way her jeans hugged her thighs. "Lemme eat you out real quick, damn!"

She stopped mid-stride, giving me that smirk I loved and hated. "Girl, bye," she said, laughing as she tossed her bag onto the chair.

"I'm serious!" I pushed, sitting up more. "Like, you too fine to just walk in here and not let me taste somethin'."

Moni shook her head, making her way around the bed, and leaned down to kiss me. "Not tonight, Kami," she said, her lips still curved in that cocky smile.

"You scared or somethin'?" I teased, trying to pull her closer.

"Scared? Please." She laughed again, dodging me with the smoothest side-step before grabbing her shorts and tank top from the drawer. "You be the one run-."

"Shhhhhhh" I leaned back against the headboard, still grinning.

She rolled her eyes, heading into the bathroom. I could hear the water running, the faint hum of some random song under her breath. When she came back out, she looked even better somehow—clean face, still glowing, hair still sittin'.

Moni sat on the edge of the bed, her eyes shifting to Raj, who hadn't moved an inch. She was still knocked out, her face buried in the crook of my neck like she was trying to fuse with my skin.

"When she go back to sleep?" Moni asked, adjusting her bonnet.

"She never woke up," I said, running my hand lazily across Raj's back. "Been out cold since you left. Like, dead-to-the-world sleep."

Moni frowned a little, leaning closer to check her. "Damn, baby, you been layin' like that for hours? She ain't even move?"

"Not once," I said. "She peaceful, though."

Moni's face got that serious look, like she was ready to diagnose something. She pressed her hand to Raj's forehead and sat back after a moment. "Temperature's normal," she said, exhaling like she'd been holding her breath.

"You was worried?" I asked, smirking a little.

"Yeah, hell," she said, side-eyeing me. "Five hours in the same position? That ain't normal."

"She tired, Moni. We all been stressing her ass out."

Moni didn't argue, just grabbed her bonnet and tied it up like she was putting a lid on the conversation. Then she nudged me. "Move down."

"Why?" I asked, side-eyeing her right back.

"'Cause you need to lay the fuck down too. I know your back hurt, sittin' up like that all day," she snapped, climbing over me.

"Bossy ass," I muttered, but I shifted us down anyway, careful not to wake Raj. Moni slid in beside me, wrapping her arm around my waist like it was instinct.

"You happy now?" I asked, leaning into her warmth.

"Yeah. Now shut up and go to sleep," she said, her voice softening as she tucked her leg over mine.

The room got quiet except for the sound of our breathing. Moni held me tight, her thumb brushing over my side. Raj stirred a little but didn't wake up, and soon enough, the three of us were locked in again, like the chaos of the day didn't matter as long as we were here. Together.
