"Alastor."
"Minerva."
The two were supposed to be making up, or whatever. Minerva had angrily stormed out of the house earlier that week and the girls had been left alone with Moody; not the best combination, if you thought about it. She'd gone to Hogwarts and stayed there for a few nights until Dumbledore told her she couldn't avoid Alastor forever. "I apologize for leaving."
"Apology accepted."
"How are the girls?" Minerva didn't care whether or not he answered. She knew the girls were just fine. She just needed a distraction. "The girls are doing just the same, you know that."
Distractions could be given no longer.
"Please, Alastor." Her voice was shaking. "We can't keep doing this. Not anymore. Its not healthy, you know that. We're acting like teenagers, it's stupid. I love you, but..it's not ideal, Alastor. What are we going to do for the rest of our lives? Certainly not just the same thing over and over again. We used to be happy, darling. But face it, we aren't anymore."
"Can't we be?"
"It's too long gone."
It was one kiss of many. But it was long, and I'll remember it forever.
Then he left.
