3rd pov.
"Cyberbullying is no laughing matter" The west valley Counselor announced to the teens gathered in the lunch room. "Sending cruel messages to someone online can be hits as hurtful as saying it to their face." Brooklyn sighed and laid her head down on the lunch table, she didn't get much sleep lastnight.
I'm not gonna name names, but the other day a mother called me up because her son was crying after some kids online made fun of his facial deformity" Brooklyns head shot up to Eli, watching as he covered his scar with his hand. People all around the lunchroom started to whisper and point at him.
Brooklyn grabbed his hand, that was not on his face, intertwining their fingers together setting them in her lap. Eli glanced over at her, she sent him a smile mouthing the words 'it's okay' while squeezing his hand.
His face and body relaxed a bit but not much. "If you're sick of getting bullied, my karate dojo's looking for recruits" Miguel leaned back looking at Eli and Brooklyn. Eli smile slightly, nodding. Brooklyn nodding her head, pondering the idea.
"Yea, right. You hear that Eli? A little karate training, and your gonna kit some major ass" Demetri moved his arms in a 'karate' way before huffing and putting his arms down.
"I'm serious,Demetri. My sensei's the real deal and I could get all of you discounts." Miguel pointed out, looking at his three friends. "As enticing as that sounds, I think we'd rather spend our afternoons playing crucible control then getting hit in the face" The smart boy pointed out, looking at Eli.
"I think it's a good idea" Brooklyn shrugged, looking over to Miguel who's face lit up. "Really? Okay, yea right um I'll give you my number and I'll text you the location" He excitedly grabbed Brooklyn phone, which she held out to him, typing in his number.
"Oh and one last thing. While we're all looking forward to the Halloween dance, let's make sure our costumes are culturally sensitive. For example, instead of 'sexy nurse,' maybe try 'gender neutral hospital employee'" everyone let out laughs and giggles, Brooklyn snickered.
She's going as Britney Spears, yes it's basic but it's easy and cute so it's a double win for Brooklyn. She wasn't sure of what the boys where going as yet, except for Eli of course, he's gonna be a sort of doctor so he can wear and mask to cover his lip.
