"I still think you're pulling my leg," Brian stated confidently. "There is no way you went cliff jumping in Thailand."

I laughed at him. Brian, Marcy, Jer, and I were all sitting at lunch together. Somehow the subject turned over to me and my life. Instead of sharing the sad "oh my parents died" story I've told numerous times to people, I thought I tell them some of the fun I've had.

"Dude," Jeremy said. "Her family is loaded. Why are you questioning it?"

"I've also skied down the mountains in Switzerland, but you know, it's whatever," I told them. Brian's face dropped and Marcy laughed at him. "Thing is, though it's fun doing all these things, it still doesn't beat home."

I wasn't lying when I said this. Something about being very familiar about a place and being able to always go back is great. You can continue the life that you started before you left and fall back into a routine. It's mundane. Very mundane, but after dealing with the drama the life of a vampire brings, it's nice.

Marcy joked, "Let me guess, back in the Hampton's."

The corners of my lips pulled up into a little smile. So did Jeremy's because he already knew what I was going to say. "Uh, no... More like Italy. Mystic Falls is definitely in second place though."

I tried my best to hide my amusement at the couples reaction. Brian stood up from his spot, grabbing his hair and paced back and forth in disbelief. Jer and I were laughing while Marcy was just as shocked as her boyfriend.

"Shit! That's not even fair man." I shrugged at him.

While walking down the hallway after school ended, my phone went off for what seemed to be the billionth time within the past ten minutes. Maybe after this next call they might get the point that I'm not able to or don't want to talk to them. Once the buzzing in my back pocket stopped, I let out a sigh. They finally got the point. I'm not going to answer their call right now. Then my back pocket vibrated.

Never mind. This person really was stupid. I grabbed my phone, knowing I would most likely get in trouble for having it out during school hours.

It was Damon.

You'd think that the person that made me go to school, would understand I wasn't able to answer him. As many say now of days: common sense isn't so common. I always knew Damon was special. Also, if I didn't answer him, I knew Damon's persevering calls would continue. To be honest, I don't have the patience for that.

"You know idiot," I answered, "I was still in class- where I can't answer my phone. You should know this since you are the one that is making me go!"

"What ever happened to "Hello, how are you, Damon?"" He asked. His tone in his voice was thick with sarcasm.

I groaned. "I almost got detention because of you. What do you want anyways?"

Damon scoffed. "You wouldn't even have to sit through it. Duh, compulsion? I'm hungry," He said. "And before you tell me to grab a blood bag, we're out."

I reached my locker and sighed. After quickly opening and putting my things away, I answered him. "You're the one with a car, go get some more."

"I'm... busy." He replied.

What? I crinkled my nose. "Do I really want to know?"

"Nope. Just get some more." With that he hung up.

"You  lil' piece of shit. You're so going-OH!" I turned around to start leaving school.

This caused me to instantly fall on my ass. Even with my vampire senses to help me out, I still some how managed to not realize that someone right behind me. I lost my balance. Quickly, I fell to the floor. My ass smacked so hard to the floor that it caused my teeth to knock together.
