Sakusa was never made for the salty sea, even standing on the deck of a ship this beautiful.

It was of a deep red wood, the bow at the front of the ship carved into a dragon's head. The most minor details lay intricate in the broad strokes of the long fangs and hollowed out, menacing eyes. The floorboards were polished and gleaming. The sails were billowing white clouds against a sky so clear that it looked like it reflected the very ocean beneath it.

Sakusa's father built it with his very own hands, and it was passed on after his unfortunate passing. The ship had sat in the marina, docked for a few too many years.

It wasn't his fault. Sakusa was busy in his apprenticeship, training to become the new medic in his small town. And it wasn't like a ship had to be taken out like a dog needing its daily walk.

Perhaps that's why one day, when a ragtag crew of pirates walked in through his door, he took the chance to sell it.

They had been drenched, clothes sodden and ripped. It was safe to say that most of them desperately needed a haircut, a good meal and a glass of whisky from the top shelf to warm their bodies. Yet- they all had huge smiles from ear to ear.

Sakusa had never felt more loathing as he ran his tongue against the back of his teeth, seeing the dripping wet floor in his pristine surgeon's quarters.

The captain of this crew was a man with tousled blonde hair and the most shit eating grin out of all of them.

"We may have been tossed off the deck. The wind, she was ah-howlingggg, and a storm is no pretty picture when she's ripping through your ship like how Bokuto rips through a good steak".

"Hey!" a man shouted from behind him.

"But if there's anything I'm proud of regarding my crew, it's that we know how to stuff our pockets with treasures before going overboard".

And with that, he slammed a ruddy brown bag down on Sakusa's desk, filled with clinking coins.

Sakusa had sat there, elbows propped up on the table, fingers tapping together as he looked down into the overflowing bag.

"If I were a worse person, I would take your money and let you leave with what you thought was a fair deal" Sakusa raised a thick black eyebrow. "But, I guess somewhere, somehow, I was raised right", he sighed. "There's double the asking price in this bag of yours".

"Well," Atsumu clicked his tongue. He leaned down, propping his elbows up in the same position as Sakusa. "That's because I was hoping we could buy some pretty decoration for the boat too", his fingers fell forward to point directly at Sakusa.
