The roar of the crowd behind her was deafening as humans and gods alike filled the massive arena, their collective energy enough to make the ground vibrate. Naruko was lost in thought when she suddenly felt two distinct presences squeezing their way through the throng of humans behind her.

"Yo, Naruko!"

A familiar voice rang out, loud and unrestrained. Naruko turned, her gaze falling on Thrud and Hlökk as they pushed their way to the front of the crowd. Thrud, towering and muscular, radiated an infectious excitement that matched the unrelenting energy in the air. Hlökk, on the other hand, had a presence that was sharp and commanding, her movements and expression carrying the air of a rich girl who was used to getting what she wanted. As they forced their way forward, some people in the crowd glared, clearly irritated at being shoved aside, but neither Thrud nor Hlökk paid them any mind, their focus entirely on reaching the front.

"Naruko!" Thrud boomed with a boisterous grin, her voice full of vigor as the large muscled Valyrie slapped Naruko's shoulder in a way that almost made the smaller girl stumble off her seat. "Man, I'm hyped up for this! Can you feel it? The energy! The battles are gonna be epic!"

"Thrud, do watch your strength," Hlökk interjected, her tone haughty but smooth, like silk laced with gold. Her sharp crimson eyes shifted to Naruko, and though her expression maintained an air of superiority, there was an uncharacteristic softness to her words. "Naruko, darling, are you feeling alright? You must be nervous about facing a god, but you don't need to worry. You're going to do just fine."

Naruko blinked at the contrast between Thrud's unrestrained enthusiasm and Hlökk's refined, almost patronizing kindness. Still, she smiled at the two Valkyries, feeling their energy bolster her own resolve.

"I'm feeling good," Naruko replied with a confident nod. "I've trained for this, and I'm ready to give it everything I've got. No matter who I face, I'll make sure I win!"

"That's the spirit!" Thrud exclaimed, pumping a fist into the air. "I can't wait to see you in action! I'm already picturing you punching some god straight in the face!"

Hlökk folded her arms, her nose tilting slightly upward as a small, approving smile played on her lips. "Confidence is key, Naruko, but do make sure you keep your composure. It would be so unbecoming if you let nerves get the better of you in front of all these spectators. Not that I think you would, of course."

Naruko chuckled softly, appreciating the strange but genuine support from the two Valkyries. "Thanks, you two. I won't let you—or humanity—down."

Thrud grinned wider, and Hlökk gave a small, elegant nod, her golden hair catching the light as the two Valkyries stepped aside to let Naruko focus on the looming battle ahead.

"Remember," Hlökk added, her voice softening as she leaned slightly closer, "the gods may seem invincible, but they're not perfect. Exploit their flaws." She paused before adding with a coy smirk, "Though I suppose that should be obvious to an experienced fighter as you."

Thrud laughed, nudging Hlökk. "Look at you, all pep talk-y! Who knew you had it in you?"

Hlökk scoffed lightly, flipping her hair. "I simply recognize potential when I see it."

Naruko shook her head, amused by their dynamic, and turned back toward the arena.

On the gods' side, Zeus sat on his throne, watching the arena with his sons, Hermes and Ares, on either side of him when he felt a familiar presence nearby.

Zeus's eyes flicked to the side, narrowing slightly in surprise. He straightened in his throne, gripping the armrests as a figure stepped into view. His arrival was as subtle as a shadow slipping across the ground, but the atmosphere around him carried a weight that made even the most confident gods sit a little straighter.
