I was in some deep shit.
How had I not thought this through properly? Now I was stuck in this mess and I had no way of getting out of it for a whole year.
I barely slept the whole night; the images of Taylor slitting a man's throat haunting me. She'd been so casual about it, killing him, draining his blood, dumping the body. It was pretty fucking obvious that she'd done that kind of thing before.
"Mr Kelce?" There was a light knock on my door just past eight in the morning. "Everything you need for today is outside the door. Please be ready in half an hour."
I heard footsteps moving away after that, so I got up and cracked the door open. There was a suit bag, shoes, and a ring box. Sighing to myself, I moved that into the room and went to shower.
When I came out, I opened the suit bag to see everything inside. It made my heart sink as I got dressed, thinking about the fact that I was getting married and this was my day. I'd always wanted a wedding with my family and special people around, but here I was getting ready on my own to marry someone who I'd known for half a day.
Twenty five minutes later, I walked down the hallway to find Taylor standing there waiting for me. I swallowed at the sight of her clad in a simple white dress, a high slit up one leg, almost up to her hip. Her hair was loose and shaped into thick waves, and her eyes stood out as they flicked around to meet mine.
"Ready?" She murmured.
"Yeah." I mumbled. "You look..."
"I don't care." Taylor turned away. "Save it for outside. It's for show."
Fine. I guess we really were only putting this on for other people. Maybe we weren't even talking to each other in private. But from what I'd seen so far, that wasn't really a problem.
Taylor and I got into a tinted black car waiting outside for us, and she didn't so much as look at me as Drew drove us to a church. When we got there, there was an older blonde woman dressed in pale blue, and Taylor finally turned my way as Drew parked the car.
"That's my mom." She said. "Andrea. She doesn't know this is fake, so sell it. The only people you don't have to pretend for is me, you, and my dad. And Drew; he knows."
"Okay." I mumbled.
"You better put on a good act." Taylor told me. I nodded. "Good." She uncrossed her legs. "You can get out and open the door then."
God she was demanding. That trait in any other woman would have turned me on, but with Taylor I just found it threatening. So I nodded, quickly scrambling out of the car and going around to open her door. She reached out a hand, which I took, the points of her manicured nails digging into my palm slightly. Taylor turned to get out, a bare leg appearing first before she stood up, and the slit fell into place to cover a little more. I swallowed.
"Darling!" Taylor's mom rushed forwards as I closed the car door.
"Hi mama." Taylor let go of my hand to hug her mom. "This is Travis." She introduced us. "Travis, baby, this is my mom Andrea."
"H-hi." I smiled, a little taken aback by the pet name.
"Travis!" Andrea moved to hug me as well, which was a little surprising. "Where have you been hiding huh? All of a sudden I get a call from my Taylor saying she's getting married and she's never once mentioned you name to me!"
"Well we wanted to keep things as private as possible." I said as an explanation, and Andrea nodded, understanding. "It's lovely to meet you."
"Likewise." Andrea smiled. "If you're good enough for Taylor, you're good enough for me. It's an honor to have you join our family."
