"ANGEL!!!"

Husker's heart hammered in his chest as he sprinted into Angel's room. The door had been slightly ajar and the air had that metallic scent of blood, worried he'd decided to check on Angel and make sure he was okay. Especially after seeing the state he'd been in when he got back after his short outing with Cherri.

He'd found him just as he slid down the wall, wrists slit, blood pooling on the floor below him. Mascara stained his face with messy black streaks, his eyes flickering faintly where they remained only slightly open with exhaustion.

"Fuck, fuck, fuck!" Husk cried as he avoided the broken glass on the floor and got to Angel, using a towel from the bathroom to press against the wounds while he tried to keep Angel awake. Though he was unsure if he could even hear him. He shook his head, tail lashing behind him.

"You stupid fucking idiot!" He shouted, gritting his teeth and flattening his ears against his head. "How could you do this to yourself?!"

He swallowed the lump of anger in his throat, trying to keep the panic down despite his heart racing and his hands shaking. Angel couldn't die from this, he knew that. But that didn't matter. He felt the warmth of Angel's blood seep through the fabric of the towel and onto his hands, staining his white claws red. He growled, folding the towel over again and pressing harder.

"C'mon.. Come on! Stop fucking bleeding!"

Angel's eyes fluttered and his head lolled to the side as he lost consciousness. Husk let out a breath he hadn't realised he'd been holding, still putting pressure on the wounds, trying to get them to stop bleeding. The damn things should've at least stopped bleeding by now, but nothing was happening.

"Goddammit!" Husk swore, his eyes narrowed and he guided Angel's body to lay down. He elevated Angel's arm, hoping it would slow the bleeding a bit and speed up the regeneration process. There was a lot of blood. So much blood. A human would've bled out by now, Angel had gone deep with that glass but Husk didn't want to look at the wound. He didn't want to look at what Angel had done to himself.

He could feel the tears building up in his eyes but he blinked them back, refusing to look weak in a situation like this, it hurt, it fucking hurt to see the only good thing in his life like this, so weak. So vulnerable.

Finally, with effort, the bleeding slowed and Angel's skin started knitting itself together. He was still unconscious, pale but at least he was healing.

"Stupid kid.." Husk muttered under his breath, he was relieved. So fucking relieved it had just been a shard from a glass bottle and not anything that could potentially leave long-term damage.

With that, Husk stood up, holding Angel against his chest. He was light for someone his size but Husk wasn't complaining.

He lay Angel down on his bed, tucking him in with care. He sat down on the edge, his hand lingering on Angel's shoulder, watching him as he slept. He watched the wounds on Angel's wrists slowly heal, brushing a clawed finger over them as they scarred over.

"Don't scare me like that again." He growled, ears flicking back against his head as the panic started to fade from inside him. "Never fucking scare me like that again.."

He stayed with Angel until he started to stir, letting out a trill as the spider demon's body shifted followed by a groan and a heavy breath that made his chest tighten.

"Welcome back, Ange." He said, managing a small, tired smile. Angel's eyes, those pink-red orbs Husk had come to love fluttered open, meeting his. They'd dimmed from their usual spark, the fire had died in them. He saw the tears start to form in the corners of Angel's eyes and he squeezed his hand, his ears still flat against his head.
