Sitting here in Aiyanna's living room, surrounded by suitcases and scattered clothes, everything feels like a blur. I'm a coward, really. Running away because I can't stand the pain-pain I caused, pain I can't fix. The walls seem to close in around me, trapping me in this suffocating guilt. Aiyanna, my best friend, hates me now. And Dakarai-he's gone too. It's my fault. All of it. I've hurt them both so much, and there's nothing I can do to take it back.

The house feels so empty now. I glance around, seeing the remnants of memories we shared-the mismatched furniture, the photos on the walls, the coffee stains on the rug where we used to sit and talk for hours. It's all a part of the life I had here, a life that now feels like a distant dream. I'm a stranger to this place now-someone who came and went, leaving nothing but pain in her wake.

I push the last of my clothes into the suitcase, the zipper scraping against the fabric. Aiyanna's angry words replay in my head, sharp and bitter. She can't even look at me now, and who can blame her? I was her best friend, and I betrayed her-betrayed both her and Dakarai. I run my fingers over the leather handle of my suitcase, feeling the weight of my decision. It's heavy with all the things I don't want to face, all the guilt I'm carrying. I'm running away because I can't handle the truth. I can't handle the pain I caused.

The flight I booked for later tonight feels like an escape route, a way to put distance between me and the mess I've made. I'll pack up, get on that plane, and disappear. Maybe then I can forget about everything-about Aiyanna's shattered trust, Dakarai's disappointment, and the way I messed up everything good in my life.

I hear a noise outside-probably Aiyanna, moving around the house, getting ready to leave too. I close my eyes, tears stinging at the corners. I'm so sorry, Aiyanna. I never wanted to hurt you. But I did. And now, all I can do is run. Run away like a coward, like someone who can't face the consequences of her actions.

"Zaire?" Aiyanna's voice cracks through the door, hesitating, like she's not sure she wants to know the answer. But I can't pretend anymore. I can't stay and watch her hate me.

"I'm leaving," I say softly, my voice barely a whisper. I don't look up, don't want to see the hurt in her eyes. This is the only way to protect her from me-distance, silence, absence.

"Good," Aiyanna's voice is flat, almost indifferent. "I was going to kick you out anyway."

I freeze, feeling the weight of her words sink in. Maybe I deserve this. I can't blame her for not wanting me around.

"Did you hear me?" Aiyanna says, her voice sharper now. "I said, I was going to kick you out anyways. So, just go."

I nod, swallowing hard. Maybe she's right. Maybe I should just leave, make it easier for everyone involved. I turn back to my suitcase, zipping it up with a trembling hand.

"I'm sorry, Aiyanna," I whisper, though I know it doesn't change anything.

"Just go, Zaire," she says, her voice cold and distant now. I nod again, gathering the last of my things. I'm a coward, running away to escape the consequences of my actions, but at least Aiyanna won't have to deal with me anymore. Maybe that's the best thing I can do for her now.

I lift the handle of my suitcase, my fingers brushing against the smooth metal. I take a deep breath, trying to steady myself. This is it. The end of whatever connection we had, the end of whatever friendship we thought we shared. I'm leaving her behind, not because I want to, but because I need to. Because if I stay, I'll just keep hurting her.

"I'm sorry for everything," I say one last time, my voice cracking. I meet Aiyanna's eyes, and for a moment, I see the flicker of pain in them, a mirror of my own. But it's quickly masked with a wall of indifference.

"Just go, Zaire," she repeats, her voice barely a whisper now. There's no anger, no sadness-just exhaustion. I can't tell if she's disappointed, relieved, or simply done with me.

I take one last look at her, at the empty space between us. I wish I could say something that would make everything better, that would change what's happened. But there's nothing left to say. I'm the one who screwed up, the one who ruined everything. And now, I'm the one who has to leave.

With a heavy heart, I turn away and walk down the hallway towards the front door. Each step feels like a betrayal-of Aiyanna, of Dakarai, of everything I thought I knew about friendship and loyalty. I'm abandoning them, but maybe that's what they need. Maybe they deserve someone who isn't broken, someone who won't keep making mistakes.

I reach the door, my hand trembling as I twist the knob. I take one last look back at the house-at Aiyanna's world, the place I once felt welcomed in. Now it's just a memory, fading like everything else I've lost.

I step outside, the cold night air biting at my skin. I drag my suitcase down the driveway, away from the place where I've caused so much pain. I'm leaving everything behind-my past, my mistakes, the people I've hurt. And maybe that's the only way I can find my own peace.

Sitting here at the airport, surrounded by the constant hum of travelers, everything feels so loud, so chaotic. I watch people hurry by, families laughing and joking, their voices blending into the background noise. But it's all too much for me. I feel like an intruder in this space, a stranger who doesn't belong.

I run my fingers through my hair, catching a loose strand. It falls, landing in my lap, just like everything else in my life-falling apart, piece by piece. I didn't mean to hurt anyone, but I did. Aiyanna, Dakarai-they trusted me, and I let them down. Now I'm at the airport, waiting for a flight that feels like an escape route. A way to leave it all behind-Aiyanna's house, the mess I made there, the memories that keep playing in my head.

I glance at my suitcase, the handle scratched from all the times I've yanked it across the pavement. Each scratch tells a story-of a place I've been, a life I tried to build, a person I once was. But now, it's just a burden, a reminder of everything I've lost.

A family walks by, their laughter a sharp contrast to the silence inside me. They're going on vacation, off to some new adventure, and all I can think about is running away. I'm not looking for an adventure-I'm just looking to disappear. Maybe if I keep moving, keep putting miles between me and the mess, I can forget everything. But I know that's not really possible. No matter where I go, I'll carry this guilt with me.

The overhead announcement crackles, my flight's boarding call. I stand up, my legs heavy, like they're made of lead. I drag my suitcase behind me, the wheels squeaking against the tile. Each step feels like a betrayal-of Aiyanna, of Dakarai, of everything I thought I knew about friendship and loyalty. I'm abandoning them, but maybe that's what they need. Maybe they deserve someone who isn't broken, someone who won't keep making mistakes.

I reach the gate, my hand trembling as I twist the knob. I take one last look back at the airport-the bright lights, the hustle and bustle. This place used to feel like a haven, a place of endless possibilities. Now it's just a reminder of everything I'm leaving behind. I step onto the plane, dragging my suitcase down the aisle. The cold night air bites at my skin as I find my seat, tucking my head down and letting out a heavy sigh.

Maybe this is it-the end of whatever connection we had, the end of whatever friendship we thought we shared. I'm leaving her behind, not because I want to, but because I need to. Because if I stay, I'll just keep hurting her. I'm sorry, Aiyanna. I'm so sorry. But I have to go.
