Tough Love

Chapter Two

That night Kris happily texted her best friend that switched schools in 4th grade, Paulina. She told Paulina every detail, including the (almost) kiss.  Kris' mom yelled down the hall way to get ready for bed, so sadly, Kris didn't get to see her response till the morning.
Paulina's response was "OMG! So cute! 😘 Kris and Thomas sitting in a tree! K-I-S-S-I-N-G!❤️ Ok, bye girly! Get some beauty sleep for your BOYFRIEND!"
The first thing Kris did in the morning was check her phone. She couldn't help but smile and blush uncontrollably when reading the reply.
Then she happily walked over to her clothes drawer to pick out today's outfit.  After debating for 5minutes, she settled one of her favorite picks, her black Flash T-shirt and black skinny jeans with buttons down where the zipper goes. 
She glanced at her clock and saw that she only 7minutes to brush her teeth and hair and get out of the house to meet her (new) best friend, Kylie, at the spot where they meet to walk to school.  Kris quickly brushed her hair and teeth, threw her hair in a ponytail, and got the heck outta there!
Kris met Kylie at the meeting spot and they were on their way.  They chatted a little bit,  (as always), and of course Kris brought up her favorite topic, Thomas.  Kylie gets ,annoyed by that topic sometimes, but knows to just say 'mmm', nod her head, and pretend like she's listening. 
Kylie has a few crushes, just no one knows but her and Kris.  Their names are Braden(A.K.A brumbles) and Zeke (A.K.A little man (cause he's short).  Kylie met 'Brumbles' in an art class in 7th grade, and met Zeke in her 9th grade science class (he's a lot more recent but she can't seem to let Brumbles go).
As they were walking and talking, Kris suddenly heard a familiar voice. Colby's. She was quite surprised for two reasons, one-Colby was actually talking to her(as his crush grew, he got a lot shyer around her), and two-he was alone, no Thomas, just a Colby with a pretty damn creepy smile on his face.
Kylie left the two of them alone, she doesn't like being near boys she doesn't know and felt like they needed alone time, or so she said.
"Uh. Kylie!?" Shouted Kris, "where are you going!?"
"To school!" Kylie yelled back, "plus, it seems like you two want to be alone."
Colby mouthed 'Thank you' to Kylie and she gave him the thumbs up. Kris was left highly confused and now alone with Colby.
Only he and Kylie knew, but after school, Colby ran up to Kylie.  Kylie was about to walk away because of her lack of knowledge about talking to unknown boys, but Colby urged her to hear him out. 
The reason Colby called for the conversation was because he arranged the whole " 'accidentally' meeting Kris and her on their daily route."  He told Kylie about his feelings for Kris and how was jealous of Thomas always getting the girl.  Kylie felt bad, so decided to help him out.  But deep down, the real reason Kylie helped Kris is because she just wanted Kris to shut the fuck up about Thomas.
