It is now the next day. It looks like one of the windows in his living room wasn't fully covered by wooden panels because I could see the light from outside. It wasn't a lot of light, though, just enough to illuminate the room so that I could see what was inside.
I am able to move my head around, just not my body. I then realize that he also has a human coffee table. I almost throw up at the thought of being glued to someone I don't even know. I am not able to see who his coffee table is. I look around to see if Eugene, or whatever his name is, is around. I don't see him so I assume he went out somewhere. "Hello?" I say to the person below me. My voice is less hoarse than it was yesterday. "You sound familiar, who are you?" says the person below me. I notice they sound familiar too but I can't think of who it might be. "I'm Clara." I say confidently, hoping this is someone I know. "Oh my gosh! Clara, it's me, Lydia!"
I am suddenly filled with hope, and sadness. I can't imagine what Lydia has been through these past two months. Lydia has the sweetest soul ever, how could somebody do this to her? "Lydia? Oh my.. what's going on?" I am way more excited to see her then I sound, I'm too traumatized from the past day to sound excited. "This guy is crazy, Clara. That night two months ago when I went missing after hanging out with you.." I can hear the pain in her voice. I can tell she doesn't want to talk about it but I need to know what's going on. "I came here that night for an interview, I didn't tell you about the interview because I didn't even think I would get the job." I can hear her starting to cry. "Why did you need a job? I thought you were rich?" I say confused. "I never told you this because I didn't want you to worry about me. But, lets just say my dad made some mistakes and... it costed us most of our money." I can hear her start to cry even more.
I don't even want to know what her dad did. We have bigger problems right now. "Oh Lydia, you should've told me. I could've helped you, I understand how it feels." I then begin to understand why she never told me. What help was I going to do? I am the poorest girl in the school, there was nothing I could've done to help. "I'm sorry, Clara. We can't worry about that right now though. We are going to die soon." I feel my heart drop to that statement.
"What.. what do you mean?" She has no time to answer that question because Eugene walks in. He's carrying some passed out guy. He looks like he's around my age but I can't tell who it is. He is very bloody, I can tell he tried to fight Eugene off. Eugene is also carrying a bag with him, I am unable to see what is in the bag though.
"Why hello everyone!" He does that same stupid smirk he always does when he tortures somebody. Nobody replies back to his greeting. "I was thinking.. and I realized that we don't have a pet yet. So, I decided to get this dog here. His name will be Max." I feel sick to my stomach. This man is sick and it's getting worse. He's now having human pets. What's he going to do, feed him dog food?
He pulls this dog bed out of that bag he had with him and sets it on the ground. He then lays Max's passed out body on the bed.
Eugene leaves the room but Lydia doesn't say anything because she knows he's still in the house somewhere. I'm assuming one of his rules is that we can't speak to each other. I wonder why he never told us the rules though. There is nothing else to do so I just stare at max and wonder who this could be, and why he came here.
