Background Information: Asta initially grew up on an island with her two parents, Forlatt and Freja. Until she was 5 and Forlatt abandoned her and her mother. It got even worse when the island they lived on was attacked. Wanting her daughter to be safe, Freja put her on a boat and let her out to sea, hoping someone would find her. After that, Asta assumed she died from whatever attacked the island (she assumes, she never actually saw a body).
Thankfully, Asta was found. The boat washed up on Berk, where Asta was taken in by Stoic as his psuedo-daughter. Ever since then, Asta has grown up alongside Hiccup (Stoic's biological son). The two were practically real siblings. They grew up being outcasts for being seen as weak. In Asta's case, it was also because she was seen as too smart for her own good (which meant she was cast aside by the adults and teased by the kids/teens).
Asta developed a crush on Snotlout (Hiccup's cousin), finding him unironically cool. One day, Hiccup and Asta come across two dragons, a NightFury and a Glimmerglaive (a dragon with crystal-like, translucent scales with the ability to become invisible). They're not fond of them at first, but they come to love each other's company with Asta, naming the Glimmerglaive 'Clearsilver'.
Asta is a bit brutally honest, often telling people what she thinks of them (not always, but mostly). As a downside, it's very obvious to tell when she's lying.
