Letters from the MinistryAs the days passed, something unexpected happened. Both Harry and Hermione received letters from the Ministry.
Hermione's letter was an official recommendation for a position at the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. It came with the promise of training in several key areas, including a position for managing magical creatures' welfare. It was exactly what Hermione had been working toward all these years, and she was thrilled.
Harry, however, received a letter from Kingsley Shacklebolt himself. It was an offer to join the Auror Department, with immediate consideration for a position in the next training group. Harry's heart skipped a beat as he read the letter, excitement and nerves battling in his chest. This was the opportunity he had always wanted.
He hadn't expected things to move so quickly, and it felt surreal, but the path ahead was beginning to take shape, and Harry wasn't sure if he was ready for it.

A New Direction
The days were passing, and it felt like the future was moving faster than Harry could keep up with. He was still unsure of what the next few months, or years, would bring—but with Ginny by his side, and his friends beginning to make their own way, Harry knew one thing for certain: life wasn't going to wait for him. It was time to step forward, even if he didn't have it all figured out.
As Harry sat in the quiet of the Burrow one evening, the weight of the letters in his hands seemed to settle in. The offer from the Ministry was a huge step forward. He had always known that becoming an Auror was the right path for him—protecting others, making a difference—but now that it was a real possibility, it felt more daunting than ever.
Ginny had left the house for a brief walk with her friends, and Harry was alone for the moment. The house was quiet, save for the soft crackling of the fire in the hearth, and he found himself lost in his thoughts, staring at the fire, turning the letter over and over in his hands.
He knew it was time to make a decision. He couldn't stay in limbo forever, and as much as he didn't want to leave the comfort of the Burrow, he knew he couldn't stay there. He was ready to start his own life, even if it was a little scary.
Just as he was about to shove the letter into his pocket, the sound of footsteps made him look up. Ron appeared in the doorway, his expression unreadable.
"You all right, mate?" Ron asked quietly, leaning against the doorframe.
Harry managed a smile, though it didn't reach his eyes. "Yeah, just thinking."
Ron didn't press him. "You're still going to do it, aren't you?" he asked, his voice soft but firm. "The Auror training. You've always wanted that."
Harry nodded slowly, unsure of the next steps but certain that it was the right path. "Yeah. I think I am."
Ron gave a short nod, as though he'd known all along. He then hesitated, his gaze flicking to the letter in Harry's hands before meeting his friend's eyes.
"I'll be here, mate. Whatever you need," Ron added with a sincerity that warmed Harry's heart. "You're not alone."

An Unexpected Visit
As the days turned to weeks, the feeling of new beginnings was palpable in the Burrow. Ron and Hermione, though still deeply absorbed in each other, tried to spend more time with Harry. But Harry, now more resolved in his future, found himself pulling back a little more each time.
One afternoon, as the sun began to dip low in the sky, Harry took a walk outside to clear his head. His thoughts kept circling back to the letter from the Ministry. He didn't want to rush into a decision, but he also didn't want to waste time.
