I took a seat outside of the arena, the sun's warmth beating down against my face. I closed my eyes, savoring the last few minutes of peace before going back inside for the final competition. I don't even know If I will be fighting with Miyagi-Do, not after Sam's and I argument.
A shadow fell across me, and I looked up to see Kwon, his face lacing with concern for me. "you okay?" I smiled at him, and patted the ground next to me, inviting him to sit next to me. He did so and I just let out a chuckled. "It's funny, never in a million years would I even think about joining Miyagi-Do. I have no clue why I'm still on the team. Maybe I am just trying to fill a void that's empty, if that makes sense."
He let out a sigh, his dark eyes softening as he looked at me. "I get it," he said quietly. "Sometimes we do things we never thought we would, just to feel... something." He picked up a small pebble and rolled it between his fingers. "But you know, maybe it's not about filling a void. Maybe it's about discovering a part of yourself you didn't know was there."
I let his words sink into me, maybe there is some truth to what he said. "What if I don't want to discover myself through Miyagi-Do? What If I want to pick up where I left off in Cobra Kai?" He smiled brightly at me, before grabbing my hand and lacing my fingers between his. "I would love nothing more to see you in a Cobra Kai Gi, I bet your father would love it as well." I laughed a little bit, while picking up my phone and checking the time. "The elimination round is starting in 30, you should find your team and prepare." He gave me confused look " are you going back inside as well?"
"I think I am going to go find my Father, we have some talking to do." I looked at Kwon, in the eyes, realizing his face is inches from mine. He stared right back at me, his eyes flicking down to my lips. "Kwon.." before I can finish my sentence, I feel the pressure of his lips against mine. My eyes widen in surprise, but then flutter closed as I melt into the kiss. His lips are soft yet insistent, moving against mine with a passion that takes my breath away. I feel his hand cup the back of my neck, pulling me closer as he deepens the kiss. A small gasp escapes me and he takes the opportunity to gently trace my lower lip with his tongue.
Electricity courses through my body, every nerve ending coming alive. My hands seem to move of their own accord, sliding up his chest to tangle in his hair. The world falls away until there is nothing but the two of us, lost in this perfect moment.
After what feels like both an eternity and not nearly long enough, he slowly pulls back. His forehead rests against mine as we both struggle to catch our breath. When I finally open my eyes, I find him gazing at me with such tenderness it makes my heart skip. "I have been wanting to do that for awhile now." I let out a small laugh and slowly pulled away from him. I stood up and extended my hand towards him. "come on, you have a competition to win, and I have a team that I need to join" he grabbed my hand and we took off inside.
He kissed me one last time, while I wished him luck and parted ways. I need to find my dad now.
I searched every nook and cranny for my dad, checking every vacant room until I finally found him talking to a student in the locker room. I knocked on the door, causing their conversation to come to an abrupt halt as they both turned to face me. "Hey dad...do you have a moment?" my dad nodded, dismissing the student, Yoon, leaving us alone in the locker room.
"So, what's on your mind?" My dad asked with a warm smile. I fully entered the locker room, immediately hit with the smell of sweat and vanilla perfume. Maybe Tori's perfume? "I want to come back," I said without hesitation. His smile grew even wider as he walked over to one of the lockers and pulled something out from inside. "Come back to what exactly?" He teased, knowing exactly what I meant.
I rolled my eyes at him and let out an annoyed sigh. "You know what I mean, dad. Why are you making me say it?" He chuckled before responding, "Because I want to hear you say it." Nerves crept into my body as I took a step closer to him. "I want to come back to Cobra Kai." He turned around with a grin and handed me something - a Gi with a Cobra Kai jacket. "That's my girl," he proudly declared.
"Welcome back to Cobra Kai, my daughter."
