As my dad walked out of the locker room, I found myself alone with the two GI's. Doubt crept into my mind - was I making a mistake by letting anger guide my decisions?
My mind raced as I recalled the heated argument between Sam and I, and my desire to be on the same side as Kwon. I couldn't bring myself to fight against him, not after the intense kiss we had shared just a few moments ago. The memory of his lips on mine lingered, sending shivers down my spine. I could feel the warmth of his embrace still lingering on my skin, making it impossible to push away the feelings that were stirring inside me. It was becoming increasingly difficult to focus on anything else in that moment.
I swiftly slipped into the Cobra Kai Gi, the black fabric feeling smooth against my skin. As I gazed at myself in the mirror, I couldn't help but feel a sense of power and confidence emanating from my reflection. Kwon's words echoed in my mind - "You would look great in the Gi." I exited the locker room, eager to join my new team members on the mat. The sound of excited chatter filled the air as I approached them, adrenaline coursing through my veins. Standing tall in my Gi, I felt like nothing could stop me now.
As I made my way towards them, Kwon and my dad both had smirks on their faces. "Do you approve of my new style?" Kwon stepped closer, unconcerned with my father observing our interaction. "I knew you would look stunning in that Gi," he whispered into my ear, sending tingles down my spine and causing me to blush.
As I turned around, Tory approached me with a smile. We hugged and she joked, "It's about time someone made the right decision." Chuckling, I murmured an apology for not saying hello sooner, explaining that I had been preoccupied. She nodded understandingly and replied, "No worries." As we pulled away from each other, she added, "I can see why you've been busy - Kwon won't stop talking about you."
"Are you talking shit about me, Tory?" Kwon's voice boomed as he strode over to us, his arm draped possessively around my shoulders. I couldn't help but laugh at his carefree demeanor, until my eyes landed on them. Miyagi-Do, making their way into the arena. The air suddenly became heavy with tension as all of them froze upon seeing me, dressed in a black gi. Kwon's smirk only grew wider as he pulled me even closer to him. I met Miguel's gaze and saw disappointment etched in his features. Quickly, I mouthed a silent "I'm sorry" before turning back to Tory. "You'll get over it," she said softly, trying to ease the guilt that I clearly felt. "The guilt doesn't last long." her words were met with a half-hearted smile from me before she nodded, acknowledging my pain.
"you must be the famous Jessica Kreese, Kwan doesn't stop talking about you" I looked behind me and saw the Cobra Kai member that was talking to my dad in the locker room before I interrupted. "I'm Yoon" he offered an hand out to me, and I gladly accepted it, giving him a small smile.
The announcer cut in with the details of the upcoming elimination round. We would be on a larger platform this time, with two teammates attempting to push off the opposing team's members. If one falls, another takes their place, and this continues until either all opposing members are knocked off or all of our own team is eliminated. Whichever team has all of their members pushed off first will be eliminated from the competition.
After about 10 minutes into the competition, it was Cobra Kai's turn on the platform. We decided for Tory and Yoon to go up first, which was the best decision we could of did because neither of them got knocked off the platform. Tory managed to kick a girl so hard that one of teeth felled out. I cheered loudly at Yoon and Tory as he grabbed Tory's hand and raised it up in victory. Kwon stood next to me, clapping at them, relived that they didn't get eliminated.
They made their way down to us, a big smile on their face as they approached. "That was incredible, guys!" I exclaimed enthusiastically. They thanked me and stood by my side, waiting for the next team to go up. Glancing up at the board, I saw that Miyagi-Do was up next. A part of me wanted them to fail, but another part hoped they would do well. The internal struggle consumed me as I waited for their turn to begin
To my surprise, their team managed to survive the elimination round, thanks to Miguel's impressive skills. He took on two opponents simultaneously and successfully knocked them off the platform. "I'll be back in a minute," I whispered to Kwon before walking over to Miguel. I wanted to discuss something with him. "Hey, can we talk for a second?" He nodded and followed me to a quieter area. "What's on your mind, Jes?"
"I need you to understand why I did it.." I stopped for a few seconds, trying to find the right words. Before I can say what I was going to say, Miguel spoke "I understand Jessica, you don't have to explain yourself to me. We are cool" I smiled up at him and pulled him into a hug "thank you, Miguel" I pulled away and gave him one last smile before returning over to cobra kai, finding them arguing about something. "come on Kwon, let loose for once in your life and come out with us tonight"
"go where" I interrupted them, curious on what they are planning "some bar in town, I heard almost all of the teams are going there tonight"
"count me in, Yoon. I need some fun in my life" Kwon let out an annoyed sighed, and walked over to me. "fine, I'll go too, but only because she's going"
"Wow Jessica, you are our magic weapon to get Kwon to actually have some fun" we all let out of laugh while Kwon just sat there, glaring at Yoon.
Kwon leaned down to my ear, making sure no one was paying attention "I had plans for us in our hotel room tonight"
"what plans?" I asked him, curious on why he made plans for us in a hotel room. He just looks at me and smirks. He leaned in, his face almost touching mine. My breath hitched in my throat, now knowing what his plans were. My cheeks instantly became red, and he smirked even harder when he noticed that I figured out what his plans were. "now since we are going to a bar instead, I get to tease you more" he backed away and my eyes just widened in shock.
Tonight should be fun.
AN: The fight scenes kind of suck, I am just not a huge fan writing those parts. I hope y'all enjoy the rest of the chapter though!
