The Watchtower felt larger than ever as (Y/N) followed Wonder Woman down a long, brightly lit corridor. Despite the pristine halls and the state-of-the-art technology that hummed around her, she couldn't shake the unease creeping up her spine. She had spent the last few hours answering questions from the Justice League, her nerves fraying with every passing moment. Now, at Wonder Woman's insistence, she was being shown to temporary quarters—a "safe" place to rest.
"I can sense your discomfort," Wonder Woman said, her tone calm but firm as she glanced over her shoulder.
(Y/N) forced a smile, hugging herself. "Is it that obvious?"
"You've been through a great deal," the Amazon said kindly. "It's natural to feel out of place."
"That's one way to put it," (Y/N) murmured.
They reached a set of sleek double doors, which slid open silently to reveal a modest yet comfortable room. A soft bed sat in one corner, flanked by a desk and a small dresser. The large window offered a breathtaking view of Earth, the vibrant blues and greens of the planet stark against the black void of space.
"This will be your room for now," Wonder Woman said, gesturing inside. "If you need anything, simply press the comm button on the desk."
"Thanks," (Y/N) said, stepping inside and setting her bag down. She hesitated before turning back to the Amazon. "Diana... I mean, Wonder Woman... do you think I'll be able to go home?"
Wonder Woman's expression softened, and she placed a reassuring hand on (Y/N)'s shoulder. "We'll do everything in our power to help you. You have my word."
(Y/N) nodded, though the uncertainty in her chest didn't lessen.
Hours later, (Y/N) sat cross-legged on the bed, picking at the edge of her blanket. Her ecto-trap sat on the desk, its faint green glow a reminder of her encounter with the ghost earlier. She had barely had a moment to process everything that had happened, and now she was stuck in a world she barely understood.
A knock at the door startled her, and she jumped to her feet. "Come in?"
The door slid open, revealing Nightwing. He leaned casually against the doorframe, a lopsided grin on his face.
"Hey," he said, stepping inside. "Thought you might like some company. Figured sitting alone up here could get... boring."
(Y/N) smiled faintly. "That's an understatement."
Nightwing gestured toward the chair at her desk. "Mind if I sit?"
"Go ahead," she said, sitting back down on the bed.
He plopped into the chair, spinning it slightly before leaning his elbows on his knees. "So, how's interdimensional exile treating you?"
(Y/N) laughed despite herself. "Terrifying, confusing, overwhelming... pick one."
"Sounds about right," Nightwing said. "But hey, you're handling it better than most people would. You captured that ghost like a pro."
"Years of practice," she said with a shrug. "Back home, ghosts are kind of... a regular thing."
"Right," he said, leaning back. "So, what's home like?"
The question caught (Y/N) off guard, and she hesitated. "It's... quieter than here. A little town called Amity Park. Not much happens there—well, except for the ghost attacks. But it's home."
Nightwing tilted his head, curiosity flickering in his eyes. "And your team? The one you mentioned earlier?"
(Y/N)'s lips quirked into a small smile. "They're amazing. Tucker's a tech genius; Sam's our resident goth and the voice of reason when we need it. And Danny... well, he's the glue that holds us together."
