"I don't understand why you're going with us," Will complained as he drove to Emma's house.
"I was invited," I said. He had me sitting in the backseat already, even though I didn't need to be. He pulled up to Emma's. We waited for her in silence. She was out quickly and Will drove there. When we got there, Will basically told me to get lost. Emma, on the other hand, wanted me to stay close until I was comfortable.
"Aw come on Emma, you don't have to babysit her," Will said, frowning.
"I'm not babysitting. I'm looking out for her," Emma said. They started arguing about it and I snuck off. I looked around, trying to find something to drink that wasn't alcohol. I found something and made sure it hadn't been tampered with.
"Not very trusting, are you?" someone asked. I turned and looked to see Jake standing there. I rolled my eyes.
"Of course not. I know how people are," I said.
"Harsh," Jake said, laughing. Will and Emma walked up then. Emma put her hand on my back.
"Let's go inside," She said, gently pushing me away from Jake. I went inside with her and ended up sitting between her and Brooke. It was very uncomfortable for me. I just sat there, waiting for an opportunity to free myself. That's when Audrey and Noah walked in. I watched as Emma greeted her. I was staring right at Audrey. It was no surprise to me that she had shown up. She was tough like that. As she looked around, noticing everyone looking at her, I could have sworn I saw the bravery leave for a split second. But it was there again."I'm the one who kissed a girl!" She proclaimed before snatching a bottle off the table and going outside. You watched after her while her friend Noah was all awkward before following her. I quickly looked away when I realized that no one was looking her way anymore.
It was a little while later that I was walking around by myself that I spotted them. Emma and Audrey sitting by the pool, chatting and giggling like they used to. I felt my stomach turn and a bit of anger, which was silly. I knew that Audrey had that girl in the video and that Emma wasn't interested in girls. Emma caught me looking and called me over. I nervously walked over and sat between them. It felt strange and nerve racking to be sure that Audrey was looking at me.
"Nat, right?" she said. I felt butterflies when she said my name. I nodded. "We're playing this stupid game where we say two people's names and pick one that we'd rather get stuck in the car with and have to kiss. You game?"
"Yeah," I said.
"Ok, Chris Evans or Johnny Depp?" Emma asked me.
"Evans of course," I said, smiling.
"Oh, I want to ask her one. Jennifer Lawerance or I don't know, Tom Felton," she said. I blushed dark.
"Jennifer Lawerance," I whispered. They looked at me surprised and then Emma leaned in close.
"Let's try this one. Audrey or Brooke?" she whispered.
"Aud-Audrey," I replied then got up and ran away. I didn't want to see Audrey's reaction. I knew it probably wouldn't be good.
