Demon Slayer Re-visioned

The Stone Hashira

Over the next few weeks they had run into a few of the creatures at night but Sanemi had used his garden tools to fend them off and when they were hurt enough Genya would absorb them through his hand.

One night they were fending one of the creatures off and doing a good job at it too. They had gotten used to it feeling no sympathy for the vile creatures that had stalked them and killed their family.

After a while they started to struggle badly and had a few wounds. Genya was able to heal quickly but eventually got to tired and fell asleep on the ground worn out from fighting.

"Hey! Hey! No don't fall asleep now!" yelled Sanemi sweating getting nervous because the creature was getting to close and had scratched him multiple times all over his body.

Suddenly out of the woods came a large man with rosary beeds on his hands charging at them with a mace and axe on a chain in one hand.

Sanemi jumped out of the way and got over top of Genya who had been rubbing his eyes waking up with his wounds fully healed.

The man quickly decapitated the creature and stared over at the two brothers who then said "Namu-Amidabutsu. That child your with, he's a demon." Sanemi looked at the man shocked.

"Whats a demon? Is it the creatures we've been fending off-" "Yes. Ive been watching you two and even though that child's a demon he insists on fighting his own kind." Interrupted the large man.

The man was well over 7 feet with short black hair, a scar across his head, and still white eyes. "So even though the child is a demon I will offer for you two to come back to my home with me. You will become my tsugoku and him." The man stopped and thought. "He will fight along beside you."

Sanemi then asked, "Who are you?" Then man responded, "My name is Gyomei. I am the stone hashira in the Demon Slayer corps. By becoming my tsugoku you will also be a demon slayer. So do you accept my offer?"

Sanemi thought for a moment and wondered, why would a man who is a demon slayer accept a demon? And as if Gyomei had read his thoughts he then said, "You might be wondering why I a Demon Slayer would accept a demon? Right?" Sanemi nodded and Gyomei continued, "Well because. He has shed blood for a human and fought his own kind. He also hasn't eaten any humans. So with that i respect him."

Sanemi continued staring and then to test something Sanemi held up 4 fingers and Gyomei said, "Ah you know I'm blind huh?" Sanemi nodded and said nothing else about it.

Sanemi turned to Genya who looked a bit nervous but Genya nodded his head in a way of saying yes to Gyomei's offer. Sanemi looked up and said, " We accept your offer, I would like to train under you to become a Demon Slayer."

The man nodded and told them to follow him. They did as said and after a long time of walking and hearing the chant "Namu-Amidabutsu" almost 100 times they arrived at a cabin on top of a mountain.

It was about to be day break, Genya quickly jumped into the basket that Sanemi was carrying on his back to hide.

"Come along now inside. There's some stew cooking." said Gyomei in a soft kind voice. Sanemi followed and when they were inside Genya had come out to enjoy the meal.

After around 10 minutes of silence Gyomei then said, "Tomorrow there will be a meeting about you two. So be up early. There's some blankets in the closet over there and a few pillows. I will be back in the morning to bring you, and bring the demon child in this."

Gyomei set down a black wooden box with green rope as straps. Sanemi looked up at Gyomei and smiled, "Thank you sir for everything." Gyomei nodded and walked out leaving the boys alone in the cabin.

"We must be up early tomorrow OK?" stated Sanemi to Genya. Genya nodded in agreement and went to get a blanket and pillow to sleep on.

Sanemi watched and smiled as Genya couldn't reach the pillows. Sanemi went over and took a 2 pillows down for himself and Genya.

Sanemi helped tuck Genya in away from the door so it would be completely dark. "Goodnight Genya." said Sanemi as his little brother dozed off.

The next morning at daybreak Sanemi was up and was trying to wake Genya up when Gyomei walked in.

"Namu-Amidabutsu" said Gyomei. "Good morning sir." said Sanemi back. "Are you ready to go?" Genya quickly shot awake and hurled himself into the box that Gyomei had made for them. "Yes we are." said Sanemi smiling.

"Come along then Sanemi, Genya." Sanemi quickly stopped and looked at Gyomei nervously. "We never told you our names sir. How do you-" "I told you I had been watching you." Gyomei stated again and said nothing more before walking out the door, Sanemi following behind with Genya in his box.

After they had been walking for a while they finally arrived at a beautiful mansion with a small pond in the back and a few trees surrounding the pond and a little dock area near the pond.

They walked around the side of the mansion to the front. They stood there alone with Gyomei in front of them.

 "Namu-Amidabutsu." chanted Gyomei over and over again. "We are just early don't worry." said Gyomei when he saw Sanemi getting a bit of a nervous look on his face.

Sanemi and Gyomei stood around and waited for a good 5 minutes before 5 more people came walking from the other sides of the mansion laughing and talking among each other.

They stopped when they saw Gyomei and Sanemi. "Who's the kid?" asked a man with medium long white hair, a jeweled headband that was tilted to the side, and beautiful maroon eyes.

"Tengen, Shinjuro, Kinote, Jigoro, Urokodaki." greeted Gyomei. "Kagaya shall explain when he arrives."
