𝟲 𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗛𝗦 𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗥..
SCARLETT GOT TO THE party around 9:30, she had the same forced smile on her face, and she felt drained. she was still pretending to be better.
scarlett felt like she was suffocating in the crowd of people. it was too loud and she was too tired. without a second thought, she made her way over to the kitchen looking for something to drink. This was the one thing that would help her feel even remotely okay.
once in the kitchen, she rummaged through the fridge quickly, grabbing the first drink she saw. She didn't look at what it was, she didn't care. she popped the cap off, taking a long swig of the bitter liquid.
the alcohol burned her throat but she didn't care. she felt it start to settle in her stomach, as she took drink after drink. whe wasn't used to drinking, usually just having the occasional drink at a party or event. the alcohol made her slightly dizzy, her vision blurry. she just wanted to forget about matt for tonight, even just for a moment. she didn't want to be conscious or sober.
she closed her eyes, feeling the warmth of the alcohol as it spread throughout her body. her vision was blurring and her mind felt fuzzy. this was what she needed, even if just for tonight. she needed something to numb the feelings, the pain she felt in her chest. it felt impossible to breathe when she was sober.
she continued to drink, the bitter taste of alcohol in her throat and the dizzy feeling numbing her mind. it was better this way.
her body felt heavy as she drank more, leaning against the counter for support. she stumbled on her feet, the alcohol slowly taking effect. her thoughts slowly quietened to a whisper, her mind fuzzy.
her vision was blurred, the lights of the party seeming like bright colors. scarlett couldn't hear the booming music as she continued to drink, it felt like she was underwater. her body felt heavy, as if she wasn't here, as if she was floating.
scarlett heard a faint voice come from beside her, however she couldn't make out who they were. she was too tired, dizzy, and her vision was too blurred.
"are you okay?" the voice asked again. it sounded male, unfamiliar, yet too familiar. she turned to look at them confused, her eyes half open. she had trouble focusing.
"noo," she slurred out, drawing out the syllable. she was too exhausted to try and hide her feeling, hiding them all day felt impossible. she wanted to cry, the pain she felt was too much.
the person seemed familiar, but she couldn't tell who it was, too dizzy to even focus on their blurry figure.
he gently pulled her outside to the back porch of the house. the loud thumping of the music from inside was now muffled. the cold air hit her skin, making her feel slightly more aware of her surroundings.
the man sat on the old porch swing, gently pulling her to sit next to him. she stumbled and collapsed onto the seat. "wanna talk about it?" the man asked
scarlett felt dizzy and exhausted, the alcohol had taken a large effect on her. the man sitting next to her, he seemed so familiar, but at the same time not.
at his question, her shoulders slumped the tiniest bit. talking about matt would only make it worse, she felt her chest constrict in pain.
"no" she mumbled, her voice was quieter and slurred.
he could tell she was drunk, her eyes slightly glazed, her words slurred. even so, he sat there quietly, looking at her. he saw her expression fall slightly as she didn't want to talk about it.
